1. What is bowl lotus?
Bowl lotus usually refers to the small and medium types of lotus, and its scientific name is the same as that of lotus. Bowl lotus leaves are round, with floating leaves that lie on the water surface and upright leaves that extend above the water surface; water lily leaves, by contrast, are round with a notch, and only floating leaves lie on the water surface.
Bowl lotus likes full sunlight and does not tolerate shade. It likes warmth, and the suitable growing temperature is 20-30°C. When the temperature is below 15°C, growth stops. It likes moisture and fears drying out, and it prefers relatively stable still water. Fertile clay rich in organic matter is suitable. The suitable pH value is 6.5.

It dislikes sudden bright sun after rain or being hit by strong winds. At 25°C it grows new rhizomes.
