During the growing period, chili peppers grow all kinds of weeds, and if these weeds are not removed in time, the nutrients in the field will be consumed, leading to reduced yields. So what herbicides can be sprayed on chili peppers?

1. What herbicides can be sprayed on chili peppers?

Herbicides that can be sprayed on chili peppers include benthiocarb, trifluralin, clethodim, quizalofop-p-ethyl, haloxyfop-R-methyl, and fluazifop-p-butyl, among others. Among them, trifluralin can control most monocotyledonous weeds and a few dicotyledonous weeds, such as barnyardgrass, foxtail, goosegrass, wild oat, purslane, bristlegrass, crabgrass, lovegrass, sprangletop, bluegrass, brome, lambsquarters, and puncturevine.

2. How are chili pepper herbicides used?

1. Direct-seeded fields

In direct-seeded fields, after sowing and before emergence, spray Shanghai Hulian Shitianwang 33% pendimethalin emulsifiable concentrate at 50-75 milliliters per mu. If both grass and broadleaf weeds are to be controlled, add 24% oxyfluorfen emulsifiable concentrate at 10-20 milliliters per mu to the above agents.

However, the following points need attention: (1) Strive to level the land to avoid exposed seeds or too shallow sowing, which can cause herbicide damage. (2) Use 30-40 kilograms of spray solution per mu, and strive to spray evenly without repeated spraying. (3) The dosage should not be increased arbitrarily. (4) Sow and spray as much as possible according to the weather, to avoid herbicide damage caused by continuous rainy weather at emergence after spraying; do not water before or after emergence either. (5) For film-mulched fields, it is not recommended to spray the solution directly under the film, to avoid herbicide damage after emergence.

2. Transplanted fields

For transplanted fields, spray Hulian Shitianwang at 150-200 milliliters 1-3 days before planting. If both grass and broadleaf weeds are to be controlled, add 24% oxyfluorfen emulsifiable concentrate at 20-30 milliliters to these agents. However, note that during transplanting, try not to disturb the soil layer.

If weeds appear during the growing period, only 10.8% haloxyfop-R-methyl emulsifiable concentrate at 20-40 milliliters, or 10% fenoxaprop-p-ethyl emulsifiable concentrate at 50-75 milliliters, can be used for stem and leaf spraying after the weeds have 3 expanded leaves, to control grass-family weeds.
