2. How should peaches be planted
(1) Planting time
Peaches are generally planted in autumn, when temperatures are high and there is more rain. At this time, even if the roots are damaged during planting, they can repair themselves, which can improve the survival rate. The specific time is between October and December. In addition, sandy soil should be chosen for planting.
(2) Planting method
1. Dig the ground and loosen the soil: Before planting, first loosen the soil and dig holes, and also apply an appropriate amount of fertilizer. A suitable amount of fertilizer should be applied in each hole to increase nutrients. The spacing density of the seedlings planted later is related to the amount of nutrients. If there are sufficient nutrients, plant them closer together; if the nutrient content is low, plant them more sparsely. About 56 to 74 seedlings are planted per mu.
2. Planting into the soil: Before planting, first check the root system of the young seedlings. Any damaged roots should be cut off first, and the larger fibrous roots should also be properly trimmed. When planting, straighten out the roots and carefully cover with soil. The thickness of the covering soil is about 50 cm, and press the soil firm with your feet.
3. Dig a trench and water: After planting, dig a circular trench around the young seedlings to make watering easier. The amount of water should be enough to soak through the newly filled soil. After it has all seeped in, cover with dry grass to preserve moisture.
