What fertilizer works best for topdressing peanuts
When planting peanuts, to achieve high yields, besides meeting water and soil requirements, you also need to apply fertilizer properly. So what fertilizer should be used for topdressing peanuts?
1. What fertilizer should be used for topdressing peanuts?
For topdressing peanuts, you can use nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus fertilizer, human manure, organic fertilizer, or farmyard manure mixed with plant ash. The specific application rate should be determined according to the amount of fertilizer applied and the plant's growth condition. Generally, when the plant has two pairs of lateral branches, 150 kg of ammonium sulfate or 120 kg of urea should be applied per hectare.
2. How to topdress peanuts?
1. If the base fertilizer used when planting peanuts is insufficient and the soil fertility is not enough, apply seedling fertilizer in time, applying 8-10 jin of nitrogen fertilizer per mu, or 30-40 jin of compound fertilizer; you can choose broadcast application or furrow application.
2. At the pegging stage, topdress each mu with 40 jin of superphosphate + 500 jin of high-quality organic fertilizer per mu, but the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied should be controlled well.
3. In the late growth stage of peanuts, when the root system ages, spray foliar fertilizer, generally once every seven days, and about three consecutive sprays are enough.
4. When topdressing peanuts, be sure to note that around flowering, if drought weather occurs, do not flood-irrigate.
