Eggplant is a common vegetable in daily life, and almost every household grows it. During eggplant cultivation, the phenomenon of yellowing and withering leaves can appear. So what are the treatment methods for eggplant bacterial wilt?

1. Reasonable intercropping

Carry out crop rotation with grasses, cucurbits, alliums or crucifers for more than 4 years. Choose disease-resistant varieties, use high ridges or high beds, and use Torubamu (Solanum torvum) as rootstock for grafted cultivation. Use drip irrigation or micro-irrigation facilities for watering, avoid flood irrigation, appropriately control watering during the disease period, use formula fertilization, and increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

2. Seed disinfection

You can use warm water at 52°C, or soak the seeds with 30% Xinzhiromycin for 30min, then wash them clean and germinate before sowing. Or soak the seeds with 300 times liquid of Paenibacillus polymyxa fine granule with 0.1 billion viable spores/g, or sprinkle and pour 0.3g/㎡ on the seedbed.

3. Soil disinfection

In the high-temperature summer season, solar heat can be used for soil disinfection. Or for 667㎡, mix 100-150kg of slaked lime with 1000-2000kg of chopped rice straw or wheat straw, spread it on the soil surface, then plow and water thoroughly, cover with plastic film, and seal the greenhouse or shed for about 20 days, keeping the soil temperature continuously at about 50°C to kill pathogens in the soil.

4. Control of underground pests

The pathogen mainly invades through wounds on the roots or stem base, so it is necessary to do a good job in controlling underground pests such as white grubs and mole crickets, so as to prevent underground pests from damaging the roots and reduce the probability of the pathogen invading from the roots or stem base. Use 30% trichlorfon emulsifiable concentrate 500 times liquid, 50% phoxim emulsifiable concentrate 1000 times liquid, or 80% trichlorfon soluble powder 1000 times liquid, etc., for drenching or spraying.

5. Chemical control

After planting or in the early stage of disease, you can choose 700 times liquid of Bacillus subtilis with 1 billion viable spores/g, 1500-2000 times liquid of Bacillus subtilis wettable powder with 100 billion viable spores/g, 100-200 times liquid of Bacillus cereus wettable powder with 800 million viable spores/g, 1000-1100 times liquid of 80% ethylicin emulsifiable concentrate, or 500 times liquid of 77% copper hydroxide wettable microparticle powder, etc., for spraying or root drenching, with 250-500mL of medicinal liquid per plant.
