What fertilizer works well for fertilizing peanuts
Peanut is a common crop in China, grown almost everywhere, and to grow peanuts well, you need to apply fertilizer properly. So what fertilizer should be used for fertilizing peanuts?
1. What fertilizer should be used for fertilizing peanuts?
For fertilizing peanuts, use nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus fertilizer, potassium fertilizer, calcium fertilizer, sulfur fertilizer, etc. Among these, the demand for nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers is the highest, with a ratio of 3:0.4:1, followed by the greatest demand for several elements such as sulfur and magnesium. Generally, organic fertilizers are the main type and inorganic fertilizers are supplementary, and after applying sufficient organic fertilizer, foliar spraying should be carried out in the middle and later stages according to growth conditions.
2. How should peanuts be fertilized?
1. Base fertilizer: Base fertilizer includes bottom fertilizer and seed fertilizer. Fertilizer applied before sowing in combination with ploughing is called bottom fertilizer, while fertilizer applied in concentrated form in furrows or holes at sowing is called seed fertilizer. Peanut base fertilizer accounts for more than 80% of the total fertilizer, and organic fertilizer should be the main type, combined with nitrogen, phosphorus, and other fertilizers. The specific application method varies with the type and amount of fertilizer. Generally, it should combine broadcasting and concentrating, with most applied as bottom fertilizer by broadcasting before sowing during land preparation, and a small portion retained for concentrated furrow or hole application at sowing. To improve phosphorus fertilizer efficiency, the phosphorus fertilizer can be composted with organic fertilizer for 15-20 days before application. When sowing peanuts, dressing the seed with rhizobium inoculant can increase effective rhizobia. In addition, dressing or soaking seeds with a 0.2-0.3% ammonium molybdate or 0.01-0.1% boric acid aqueous solution can supplement the trace elements needed by peanuts.
2. Topdressing: Topdressing should be done in a timely manner according to the growth of peanuts. Topdressing at the seedling stage should be carried out before the beginning of flowering, generally applying 80-100 kg/sq km of urea and 150-200 kg/sq km of superphosphate in furrows. After flowering, 300-400 kg/sq km of gypsum powder and 150-200 kg/sq km of superphosphate can be applied to increase phosphorus and calcium nutrition during the pod-setting stage. In the pod-filling and full-pod stage of peanuts, when fertilizer is running short and topdressing cannot be carried out, 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 2% urea can be sprayed on the leaves 1-2 times, which can protect roots and leaves and improve the pod-setting rate and full-pod rate.
