When planting crops, it is often necessary to pull out the weeds in the field clean, but many times there is no way to ensure that all the weeds are cleared. If they are not killed, they will compete with the crops for nutrients. Fomesafen and bentazone is a herbicide; what grass does it target?

1. What grass does fomesafen and bentazone target

Fomesafen and bentazone has good control efficacy against weeds such as velvetleaf (Abutilon theophrasti), Asiatic dayflower (Commelina communis), field sowthistle (Sonchus arvensis), lambsquarters (Chenopodium album), goosegrass (Eleusine indica), cocklebur (Xanthium sibiricum), redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus), barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli), flatsedge (Cyperus), thistle (Cirsium), dandelion (Taraxacum), smartweed (Polygonum), copperleaf (Acalypha australis), purslane (Portulaca oleracea), and bitter lettuce (Ixeris) and other weeds.

2. Properties of fomesafen and bentazone

It is a binary compound formulation and a contact-type foliar herbicide. The active ingredients mainly work by being absorbed through the green parts of the weeds, and act relatively quickly under mild climatic conditions. Bentazone can control many broadleaf weeds, but does not control grass weeds; acifluorfen has higher activity against broadleaf weeds, but easily causes transient phytotoxicity to soybean leaves. Using these two active ingredients in reduced-rate mixture can broaden the weed-killing spectrum, reduce the transient phytotoxicity of acifluorfen and speed up recovery.

Applicable crops: peanut, soybean, mung bean, adzuki bean.

3. Precautions for fomesafen and bentazone

1. Use at most 1 time per crop season.

2. This agent is a contact-type herbicide, and foliar spraying should be as even and thorough as possible. Yellow spot phytotoxicity may occur after spraying, and it generally returns to normal after 10 days without affecting growth, but the amount used must not be too much.

3. When applying, be careful not to let the spray solution drift into cotton, sugar beet, sunflower, ornamental plants and sensitive crop fields, otherwise phytotoxicity will occur.

4. When applying, wear long clothes and long pants, gloves, eye protection, a mask, etc.; at this time do not smoke, drink water, etc.; after applying, wash hands and face clean, etc.

5. Wastewater from cleaning equipment must not be discharged into rivers, ponds and other water sources; waste must be properly handled, must not be discarded at will, and must not be used for other purposes. It is prohibited near aquaculture areas, rivers, ponds and other water bodies, and it is prohibited to clean application equipment in rivers, ponds and other waters; it is prohibited in areas where natural enemies such as Trichogramma are released.

6. When mixing the pesticide, adjuvants may be added to improve the control effect; the amount added should first be tested on a small scale.

7. When the climate is harsh, such as hail, flooding, drought, or when soybean has been damaged by other herbicides, do not use it again.

8. Avoid contact of pregnant women and nursing mothers with this product.

The above is a brief introduction to fomesafen and bentazone; everyone can choose the appropriate formulation for use according to their needs.
