How do you care for potted plants? These care tips you need to master
If there is not much space at home and no yard, choosing potted plants is a very good option; caring for potted plants is very easy, and they can be placed in all kinds of environments. So how do you care for potted plants?
1. Prepare a suitable flower pot
Potted plant flower pots must have good drainage. No matter what kind of flower you are planting, there must be relatively large drainage holes at the bottom, unless you are growing aquatic plants. Flower pots with relatively large drainage holes can prevent soil waterlogging. Broken tiles or granules can be placed at the bottom of the pot to prevent soil from clogging the drainage holes.
2. Light
The growth and development of the plant cannot be separated from sunlight care, so you need to pay more attention during ordinary cultivation. The plant needs to be placed in soft light to receive illumination rather than light that is too strong, which will scorch the leaf tissues. Furthermore, if the plant cannot get enough light duration for a long time, its leaves will gradually turn yellow, and more seriously, it will affect the opening of the flowers, and may even cause them not to bloom.
3. Water
Because potted plants are mostly kept indoors, their living environment means they must not be given too much water. Since the chance of long-term exposure to the sun is not that great, the light duration is certainly insufficient. Over time, if the water supply is too frequent and excessive, then the plant's root system will inevitably become moldy and rot, thereby affecting the plant's growth and development.
4. Temperature
Only when the plant grows at a suitable temperature can it show the best growth. Too high or too low is unfavorable.
5. Watering
After planting, you need to press the soil down appropriately, but do not press it too firmly. Place it in a ventilated place with bright light, and do not put it in the sun at first. Afterward, water it thoroughly until water drips out from the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot.
Keep the soil appropriately moist, but it must not be too wet, and even less waterlogged. If you are growing succulents, wait 5 to 7 days before watering appropriately.
