When to sow verbena? A detailed guide to the best sowing time
Verbena, also known as tuixuecao and yejingjie, is a plant commonly found by streams, on hillsides and along roadsides. The whole plant can be used medicinally, and it is now specially cultivated in some areas. So when to sow verbena?

Verbena is generally sown from late April to early May. When sowing, it is best to choose plump seeds from the previous year to increase the germination rate. About 10-15 days after sowing, small sprouts will appear, and in 4-5 months beautiful flowers will bloom.
2. How to sow verbena?
1. Choosing soil
Verbena has low soil requirements and only needs sufficient light, but it grows best in deep, loose and fertile sandy loam. Generally, low-lying areas are not suitable for planting. After choosing the soil, dig it deeply and apply enough base fertilizer.
2. Choosing seeds
Verbena seeds have a lifespan of 3 years and a germination rate of about 60%, so when choosing seeds, try to choose plump seeds from the previous year to increase the germination rate.
3. Sowing
Evenly scatter the seeds over the surface of the soil at a spacing of 25cm, then cover them with a 1-1.5cm thick layer of soil, press gently with your hand, and maintain the temperature between 20-25 degrees. The environment must not be too dry. After 10 to 15 days, small sprouts will emerge.
4. Transplanting
When the sprouts have grown to about 5cm tall, dig them out with the soil and roots and transplant them to a larger area.

(1) Weed frequently: after transplanting, weed often to prevent weeds from absorbing the plant's nutrients.
(2) Watering requirements: water immediately when the soil is slightly dry, but do not water too much, to avoid waterlogging and root rot.
