(3) Suggestions
1. If you plan to hike the mountain trails to view the sea and play in the sand, it is not recommended to go in July or August. Although there are pavilions along the way for resting, the trees are small and provide little shade, so it is not suitable.
2. The temperature in Langqi is not much lower than in downtown Fuzhou, and the sunshine is strong. It is recommended to bring a hat, a quick-dry windbreaker, and especially plenty of water, as well as some snacks. There are not many shops along the way, so this helps prevent dehydration and hunger.
3. July and August are the most suitable time to go for grape picking.
Next to the Langqi sea embankment there is the Oriental College of the Agriculture and Forestry University. There are many small restaurants at the college entrance, so meals can be easily taken care of.
3. Notes on picking grapes
1. When picking, visitors should best wear dark clothing to avoid getting stained with grape juice from contact with the grapes or branches. At the same time, dark clothing can also protect against insect bites.
2. Grapes cannot be eaten directly after being picked, because the fruit has a high sugar content and insects or bacteria easily attach to the surface.
3. Visitors should cherish the grape vines and not pick them by the branch, and should act within their means, picking only as much as they can eat.
4. When picking, be careful not to let the scissors injure yourself or others, and pay special attention to watching children.
5. When picking, use your hand or a basket to support the underside of the grapes before cutting, so that the grapes do not fall to the ground and break.
The Langqi Grape Tourism Festival is a major cultural festival in Fuzhou. Friends nearby can go and take part at this time, not only to eat delicious grapes but also to enjoy sightseeing.
