Bletilla striata is a plant in the genus Bletilla of the orchid family (Orchidaceae), with an especially good hemostatic effect. Nowadays, gel film blocks made from Bletilla striata are used in liver and spleen surgery, applied to the incision to replace hemostatic forceps, with an especially good effect and a rapid coagulation function. It is now cultivated all over the country. So when should Bletilla striata seeds

So when is the best time to sow Bletilla striata seeds?

1. When to sow Bletilla striata seeds

Bletilla striata seeds are generally sown in early September to early November. First, an aqueous solution containing Mycena osm undicola, Mycena dendrobii, and Mycena hymenopetala is sprayed onto the mature seeds of Bletilla striata. The treated Bletilla striata seeds are inoculated onto a culture medium, and after about 40 days the Bletilla striata seeds can germinate.

2. (Tissue culture) seedling-raising method for Bletilla striata seeds

(1) Use an aqueous solution of auxin to smear the capsules of Bletilla striata after pollination, and apply an aqueous solution containing Mycena osm undicola, Mycena dendrobii, and Mycena hymenopetala to the mature seeds of Bletilla striata;

(2) Inoculate the above-treated Bletilla striata seeds onto a culture medium; this medium contains 5 mg of auxin per liter and 1 g of activated carbon, and after about 40 days the germination rate of the Bletilla striata seeds can reach 75%, and after 60 days leaves differentiate at the apex;

(3) Transfer the cultured seedlings to a culture medium for strengthening; this medium contains 1 mg of auxin per liter, 1 g of activated carbon, and 100 g of banana puree, and they grow in the medium for 140 days. Then remove the seedlings for hardening off, with the hardening temperature controlled at 15-20°C, and the hardening substrate selected as a mixture of crushed brick, fern roots, crushed charcoal, and coarse coconut coir.

(4) After 60 days of hardening off, the resulting seedlings can be used for field cultivation.

3. How many jin of Bletilla striata seeds are needed per mu of land?

When buying tuber seeds, calculated at the current price of 120 yuan per kilogram, 120-140 kilograms of seeds are needed per mu, and the investment in buying seeds is 14,400 yuan. Planting one mu of Bletilla striata requires an investment of 14,400 yuan. If tissue-cultured seedlings are planted, the investment per mu is 16,000.
