Key Technical Points and Daily Management Methods for Seawater Shrimp Farming Explained
With the continuous development of our country's aquaculture industry, lobster farming is currently a project that has developed quite well. There are many shrimp farming techniques on the market now, but which one is actually better? This requires farmers to explore on their own and find the farming method that suits them best.
Seawater Shrimp Farming Techniques
Seawater specific gravity 1.018-1.023, pH 8.0, water temperature 18°C-32°C, seawater transparency above 8 m, no pollution sources in the surrounding coastal zone, average water depth in the culture pond above 2 m, water can be let in and drained twice a day, the pond bottom is sandy gravel with natural rock reef crevices and artificial stone caves. Set up additional net cages outside the pond as a temporary holding support preparation.
How to Meet Water Quality Requirements When Farming Freshwater Lobster
Freshwater lobster has relatively strong disease resistance and basically will not suffer any major diseases, but it has high requirements for water quality. The quality of the water directly affects the normal growth and development of freshwater lobster, and the impact of water quality on lobster yield cannot be ignored. Therefore, farmers should pay attention to water quality and the pond bottom environment during freshwater lobster farming to ensure the water quality is fresh.
1. Control transparency at 25-40 cm. The requirements differ at different stages of farming or in different seasons. Before juvenile shrimp develop, the water should be somewhat fertile; during high-temperature periods or before harvest, it should be somewhat leaner.
2. During freshwater lobster farming, quicklime solution needs to be splashed regularly to regulate water quality and facilitate molting of freshwater lobster. The best pH is controlled at 7.5-8.5.
3. Pay attention to water temperature changes. When the weather is too cold or too hot, to prevent extreme temperatures from occurring, the pond water can be appropriately deepened to keep the water temperature low and normal. In high-temperature seasons such as June to August, water needs to be changed every 5 to 7 days, and each water change should ensure 20-30% of the pond water. If frequent water changes are inconvenient, new water can also be added regularly.
4. Keep the dissolved oxygen content of the pond water no lower than 2 mg/L. If during severe weather such as thunderstorms, muggy days, or continuous overcast days, the dissolved oxygen content is very low, feeding should be reduced or stopped. The same applies when water quality deteriorates.
How to Do a Good Job of Disease Prevention in Freshwater Lobster Farming
1. Build the pond foundation well, do a good job of clearing the pond and disinfecting, carefully clean around the pond, and ensure there are no weeds or waste materials;
2. When selecting shrimp fry, they must be robust. If they are thin and weak, find a way to grade and fatten them as soon as possible, otherwise there is no hope;
3. When managing water quality, because freshwater lobster farming has very high water quality requirements, the water quality should achieve "fertile, lively, tender, and refreshing";
4. Sudden weather changes will affect the pond water temperature changes, causing lobster discomfort, easily leading to death and disease outbreaks;
5. When adding feed, be sure to pay attention to the amount, better less than more, and always insist on using high-quality feed. If the farmer's cost conditions allow, shrimp and crab multivitamin treasure can be fed regularly.
Crayfish Farming Cycle
The key depends on water temperature. The breeding period of lobster is somewhat different from ordinary animals. Generally, animals mostly breed in spring, while lobster mostly breeds in autumn. Seedlings must go through one winter to summer before they can grow to maturity, because in winter the water temperature is low and seedlings grow slowly or even do not grow. If the water temperature is suitable and nutrition is rich, lobster can grow to maturity in just 50-70 days.
It also depends on the situation. If wild, because they reproduce very quickly, release shrimp in March-April by directly releasing large shrimp to let them reproduce freely, and they can be caught around June, after which they can be caught every day.
Artificially bred varieties grow faster. The "Huafeng No. 9" variety from Wuhan Huayufeng Aquatic Products Farm can reach the market size of 50-70 grams in a growth cycle of 60-90 days.
Although there are many methods for farming crayfish, the success of each method is inseparable from the efforts and dedication of the farmer. Therefore, farmers must not look for shortcuts just for convenience, and should know that there are no shortcuts to success.
