Pigs are very common in rural areas of our country, and the threshold for raising pigs in our country is very low. If the family economy is a bit more comfortable, a farm can be set up; if the family conditions are not very comfortable, raising one or two is also fine. However, raising fragrant pigs is not that common.

How to Raise Your Fragrant Pigs Well

1. Build the pigsty well. Choose a dry, wind-sheltered, sunny, and level place to build the pigsty. The pigsty can be in single-row or double-row form, but it must have brick or stone walls with a cement finish so it can be washed and cleaned and kept sanitary. The pigsty for small fragrant pigs should be built a bit taller than an ordinary pigsty. According to the experience of small fragrant pig raisers, each small fragrant pig should occupy 0.8 sq m, and 8 to 10 pigs per pen is suitable. A manure yard should be set up outside the pigsty, and its area should be a bit larger than the pigsty; calculated at 1.5 sq m per pig, 10 pigs should have a 15 sq m manure yard. In summer, pigs need a shaded awning. In winter, a plastic shed should be used to raise the room temperature. This is an important condition for raising small fragrant pigs well.

2. Strengthen the management of suckling piglets. Feeding piglets well is the key to improving the survival rate and commercial pigs. After small fragrant pigs are born, the sow's teats should be fixed so the piglets can drink enough colostrum, and warmth should be strengthened so they start eating early. Generally, 4 days after birth, fine feed can be supplemented, and after one month of age, vaccines for swine fever, swine erysipelas, and swine pasteurellosis should be injected in time. 3. Scientifically feed adult pigs. Small fragrant pigs are lively and active, yet timid and easily frightened, so a quiet, dry, and clean raising environment should be maintained. Feed mainly with barley, rice bran, wheat bran, and other feeds. However, weaned piglets should be fed compound feed. Its feed formula is: corn 10%, rice bran 50%, soybean cake 8%-10%, wheat bran 30%, flour 1%, salt 0.5%. Each kg of feed should contain 10.5 megajoules of digestible energy and 16.2% crude protein. To improve feed returns and reach the commercial pig standard as soon as possible, scientific feeding should be carried out. First, feed on schedule, 4 meals per day, starting at 7 a.m., once every 4 hours; second, feed a fixed amount. For pigs weighing more than 20 kg, feed 4.5% of their body weight; for pigs within 20 kg, feed 3.5% of their body weight. At the same time, achieve open feeding in the front and restriction in the back, that is, let them move more at 2 months of age to promote frame growth, and after 2 months of age, restrict their activity to promote fattening, so as to ensure a relatively high meat yield. 4. Pay attention to epidemic prevention and disease treatment. First, prevent disease before it occurs. Wash manure once a day, set up a shade awning in summer for sun protection, cover with a warm shed in winter for insulation, often scrub the feed trough and water trough, and regularly disinfect the pigsty; second, treat disease early, especially pay attention to preventing and treating piglet paratyphoid. 5. Market at the right time. After piglets are raised for 5 to 7 weeks of age, they can be marketed as roasting pig raw material, and at this time they should be marketed in time. If selling breeding pigs, market them according to the specified time.

How Is Fragrant Pig Farming

Fragrant pigs mature early and fatten easily, with thin skin, fine bones, tender and juicy meat, and a rich fragrance. Suckling pigs have no fishy smell, and even when cooked without any seasoning they give off a rich aroma. They are the best material for processing high-grade meat products and the preferred raw material for roast suckling pig. Moreover, fragrant pigs tolerate coarse feed, have few diseases, and are easy to raise. Fragrant pigs are green meat products and are competitive in the market. As a meat food, fragrant pigs are consistent with modern people's life philosophy. Fragrant pig meat is high in protein and low in energy, fully nutritious, and rich in essential amino acids and trace elements for the human body.

Fragrant pigs are a rising star in the pet market. Through extraction from Bama fragrant pigs, they can be bred into family pets, and can also be used as customs animals for training and conditioning.

Fragrant pigs are already a new export variety, which is conducive to opening up a broad international market. Fragrant pigs are deeply welcomed in Guangdong, Hong Kong, China, Macao, China, and other regions, and are favored by users in Southeast Asia and Western Europe and North America, with products in short supply.

The Farming Prospects of Fragrant Pigs

Fragrant pig farming is very simple. They tolerate coarse feed, have strong adaptability, and are easy to manage, but they grow slowly. Raisers mainly use free-range raising when feeding them. Fragrant pigs relatively like eating wild grass, fragrant rice grain, and other green feed, and their adaptability is especially strong, with a very small chance of illness. However, fragrant pigs are very timid. Once frightened, they easily run away, so the pig pen is required to be tall enough, and they should be raised in surrounding areas that are quiet and relatively quiet. Of course, fragrant pigs also have the characteristics of early sexual maturity, tolerance to inbreeding, and stable heredity.

Moreover, although fragrant pigs are small in size, they have the characteristics of thin skin, tender meat, fine bones, early maturity, and excellent meat quality, so they are loved by many consumers in the market. Also, many raisers are now more enthusiastic about fast-growing "foreign pigs," so there is still a certain gap in the fragrant pig market, and its farming prospects are also very broad.

Breeding and Reproduction Management of Fragrant Pigs

Pig breed selection. When introducing breeding, the appearance, growth and development, bloodline, and presence of genetic defects of the breeding pigs should be strictly examined. The breed characteristics are required to be obvious, reproductive function vigorous, and the pig breed pedigree card should be brought back for preservation and future reference. Introduction environment. The introduced fragrant pigs must conform to the local people's living consumption level and economic development needs. At the same time, the characteristics of the breed, climate, and feeding management should be understood, so as to determine the domestication measures after the fragrant pigs are introduced, create the necessary feeding and management conditions, and ensure the benefits of fragrant pig farming.

Introduction season. It is best to introduce fragrant pigs in late spring, pass through the warm summer, and then spend the autumn and winter seasons under gradually decreasing temperatures. It is also required to do a good job of cold protection after winter begins, so they gradually adapt to the local natural conditions. Breeding pig age. For introducing fragrant pigs, it is best to introduce young pigs around 4 months of age or slightly older. At the young stage, pigs have strong adaptability and easily accept different living conditions. The initially introduced pig breeds should not be fed separately, but should be concentrated in 1 or several pig farms, raised under good feeding and management conditions, and at the same time observation records should be kept well, and reproduction and selection work should be done well. After they adapt, gradually promote them.

The farming prospects of fragrant pigs are still very good, and fragrant pigs are currently not especially common in our country. Fragrant pig meat is very delicious, and its nutritional value is also very high, so it is deeply loved by many consumers in the market.
