What are the incubation methods for quail farming?
1. Natural incubation method: choose a hen with a small body size and strong brooding instinct to hatch the eggs as a substitute, and 30-40 hatching eggs can be incubated at one time. In the early stage of incubation, when the hen leaves the nest to eat, if the temperature is relatively low, a cotton blanket or other insulation should be placed over the nest. During incubation, prevent the hen from stepping on and breaking the hatching eggs. Using a pigeon as a substitute for incubation, 6-8 hatching eggs can be placed in each time. Method: after the pigeon lays eggs and is about to begin incubating, take out the pigeon eggs and put in quail eggs. After the quail chicks hatch, take them out promptly and place them in a brooder.
2. Hot water jar incubation method: use 1 water jar and 1 aluminum tray with matching diameters, and cotton quilts for insulation, to carry out incubation. Put the hatching eggs into a small mesh bag in groups of 30-40, then place them in the aluminum tray. Wrap the outside of the water jar tightly with cotton wadding and other insulation, and put 50°C-70°C warm water inside, with the water amount being such that it will not touch the bottom of the aluminum tray placed in it. Place the aluminum tray on the water jar, then cover it with a cotton quilt. At the beginning of incubation, the temperature inside the jar can be slightly higher, and at the same time there is a relatively large temperature difference between the eggs at the edge and the eggs in the middle of the tray, so turn the eggs several more times to make the egg temperature basically uniform, then turn the eggs once every 4 hours-6 hours. The water in the jar is generally changed 1 time-2 times a day, and only part of the water is changed each time. During incubation, place a thermometer in the aluminum tray so as to monitor temperature changes. 3. Electric blanket incubation method: first spread a layer of cotton wadding under the electric blanket, then cover the blanket with a layer of cotton blanket, and place several square wooden sticks 3 cm-5 cm on a side flat on top, place the egg tray on the wooden sticks, stack 2-3 layers, cover with a cotton quilt, then switch on the electricity for heating. 10 hours-12 hours after incubation begins, check the temperature once every 30 minutes; afterward, control the temperature through the switch of the electric blanket, turning eggs, cooling eggs, and the thickness of the cover. Turn the eggs 5 times-6 times a day. 4. Fire kang incubation method: this is an incubation method suitable for use in northern regions. Build an adobe fire kang, then carry out incubation on the kang bed; the method is basically similar to the electric blanket method. 5. Machine incubation method: there are many types of incubators sold on the market, and any incubator used for poultry eggs can be used to incubate quail.
