Five Technical Measures for Disease and Pest Control in Freshwater Shrimp Farming in Summer
Freshwater shrimp outbreaks occur relatively frequently in summer. To reduce farming risks, the following work needs to be done well:
1. Disinfection of shrimp pond water. First, sprinkle dibromohydantoin at 0.25ppm over the whole pond for sterilization, then apply again after an interval of half a month, continuing until early July, for more than 3 consecutive applications, or it can be used alternately with other drugs.
2. Preventive medication. Mix medication into compound feed for feeding. Use florfenicol powder aqueous solution at a concentration of 3%, add 15—18 jin of solvent per 50 kg of feed and mix, then feed. This can effectively prevent shrimp diseases from entering through the mouth, with 5—7 days as one treatment course, for 2—3 consecutive courses. 3. Shrimp disease control: For bacterial diseases such as red leg, gill rot, and enteritis, add allicin (0.2%), florfenicol (0.2%), and immune polysaccharide (0.5%) to 50kg of feed and feed continuously for 7 days. In combination, use 0.3ppm povidone-iodine sprinkled over the whole pond for disinfection, and after 3 days use 1ppm EM stock solution or Bacillus subtilis to improve water quality; the general condition can then be brought under control. 4. Apply organic fertilizer in a timely manner to cultivate organic animals and plants in the water. Because medications are frequently used in shrimp pond water, large amounts of organic matter in the water are consumed, which is unfavorable for the normal growth needs of shrimp, so organic fertilizer should be applied. Evenly apply fermented chicken manure fertilizer around the pond, and immediately turn on the aerator after application to increase the oxygen content in the water and prevent freshwater shrimp from gasping at the surface. 5. Carry out inspection work in a timely manner. When signs are discovered, immediately take effective measures to eliminate accidents. For example, before thunderstorms, apply vitamins, halve the feed or stop feeding to prevent pond turnover; during thunderstorms, do not use disinfectant preparations; after thunderstorms, run the aerators more to maintain the water body's ecological balance. Apply topdressing in a timely manner. When the weather is clear and good, use New Live Bacteria King mixed with zeolite powder and scatter dry, to promptly supplement beneficial bacteria at the pond bottom and in the water body and inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria.
