Summer is the season when fish grow most vigorously, and it is also the peak period for outbreaks of various fish diseases. At this time, the quality of feeding and management directly affects fish yield and economic benefits, so the daily management of fish ponds must be strictly carried out.

1. Patrol the pond frequently, and pay close attention to strictly preventing floating head. Persist in patrolling the pond three times a day: morning, noon, and evening. Patrol in the morning before sunrise to observe whether there is floating head around the fish pond and its degree. Patrol at noon mainly to check the fish's feeding and observe the water color, and judge whether the amount of bait and fertilizer is appropriate. Patrol in the evening focusing on checking whether there is leftover feed and whether there are signs of floating head, or if floating head has already occurred, immediately take aeration measures, such as injecting a large amount of fresh water or turning on aerators to increase oxygen. 2. Pay attention to regulating water quality and do a good job in draining and irrigating pond water. In addition to correct fertilization and baiting, fish ponds with darker water color should frequently be injected with fresh water to keep the water quality fresh. Generally, add fresh water once every 7-10 days, with each addition raising the water depth by 15-20 cm. Frequently check and maintain inlet and drainage ditches, keep water flow unobstructed, and prevent collapse and blockage. In rainstorm seasons, inspect strictly to prevent water from overflowing and fish from escaping. During the season when farmland is treated with pesticides, pay close attention to pesticide use in surrounding farmland, understand where farmland drainage goes, and strictly prevent farmland drainage containing pesticides from entering fish ponds. 3. Pay attention to strengthening bait feeding. The bait should be fresh and palatable. When feeding, do not let it vary too much. Adhere to the four observations principle and feed various baits in a planned way. The feeding frequency should be 2 times per day. The bait should be eaten within half an hour after being put in. The feed should be comprehensive and sufficient in nutrition, and attention should be paid to combining fine and coarse feed. When feeding, fixed-point feeding is required. When the water color is dark and transparency is low, or on cloudy and rainy days, reduce the amount of bait. Before and after rainfall, feed less or do not feed. Every day, remove overnight leftover bait and residual grass to avoid polluting the water quality. 4. Fertilize reasonably and maintain appropriate fertility. The fertilization principle is to apply a small amount many times, observe the water color, and control the amount of topdressing according to the fertility of the water. Generally, the water transparency should be about 30 cm, and the water color is best when it is tea-brown. From June to September, 5-6 kg of yeast biological organic fertilizer can be applied per mu, 3-4 times per month; the fertilization time should be chosen on a sunny morning, dissolved in water, and sprinkled evenly. 5. Do a good job in comprehensive disease prevention. Carrying out drug prevention before the fish disease epidemic season is one of the important measures to prevent fish diseases. Specific methods: each month, use 15-20 kg of quicklime per mu at 1 m water depth, adjust the water, and sprinkle evenly; every half month, use 100-200 g of strong chlorine essence and 0.5 ppm of 90% crystal trichlorfon solution alternately to splash the whole pond. At the same time, each month, at the feed platform, carry out one treatment course each of hanging baskets with bleaching powder and hanging bags with a mixture of copper sulfate and ferrous sulfate, and Chinese herbal medicines can also be inserted and hung. Preventive drugs can be added to the feed to make medicated bait and fed for one treatment course, with good results. During the fish disease epidemic period, fishing tools such as nets and buckets should be disinfected to avoid mutual infection.
