How should the rearing of blue peafowl chicks be regulated
Blue peafowl chicks have a relatively poor ability to regulate humidity by themselves, and artificial brooding, whether on the ground or in cages, requires relatively high and stable humidity. No matter the season, great attention must be paid to keeping the brooding house warm. Brooding with underground flue heating is the most commonly used brooding and heating method in rural areas of northern China. At present, electric heating and infrared heating equipment are generally used.
(1) Brooders: according to their heat source, brooders can be divided into three types: electric, coal stove and gas, and the commonly used one is the electric brooder. Electric brooders make humidity easy to regulate and are convenient and clean to use.
(2) Infrared: using the heat emitted by infrared lamps for brooding keeps the room clean, is convenient to install indoors, and provides stable humidity. There are two types of infrared lamps: one with bright light and one without bright light. At present, most use the bright-light type. Commonly used infrared lamps are 250 to 500 watts each, suspended 40 to 60 cm above the ground, and the hanging height of the bulb can be adjusted according to the increase in age in days and the required brooding temperature. Generally, as the age of the chicks in days increases, the required brooding temperature gradually decreases. The hanging height is gradually raised.
(3) Other brooding facilities: in addition to heating equipment, artificial brooding of blue peafowl also requires brooding cages, brooding enclosures, brooding nets and other equipment.
