What procedures are required to build a bamboo rat breeding farm
Liao Meizhong, a villager from Changjiang Village, Chijiang Town, Dayu County, called to ask: After watching a technical lecture on TV about the artificial domestication and breeding of Chinese bamboo rats, I also want to build a Chinese bamboo rat breeding farm. May I ask, what procedures do I need to go through?
Reply from the Wildlife and Plant Protection Management Station of the Dayu County Forestry Bureau: The Chinese bamboo rat is a non-key protected wild animal. Artificial domestication of Chinese bamboo rats requires a wild animal domestication certificate and a wild animal business certificate. The domestication certificate and business certificate for non-key protected animals are examined and approved by the municipal forestry competent department. The applicant should meet the following conditions: have a fixed site suitable for domesticating and breeding wild animals and the necessary equipment; have funds, personnel and technology commensurate with the species and quantity of wild animals to be domesticated and bred; and have guaranteed sources of breeding stock and feed for domesticating and breeding wild animals.
The procedures are: first, the applicant submits an application to the county forestry bureau, then submits a feasibility report covering the breeding scale, technology, funds, market analysis and other relevant content for the Chinese bamboo rats, and at the same time provides proof of the legal source of the Chinese bamboo rat breeding stock and photos of the breeding site. Then the Wildlife and Plant Protection Management Station of the county forestry bureau conducts an on-site verification. If the verification meets the conditions, the applicant fills out an application form for domesticating and breeding wild animals and for selling, purchasing and utilizing wild animals or their products (in duplicate), and then the Wildlife and Plant Protection Management Station of the county forestry bureau submits the application, application form, feasibility report and other relevant materials to the wildlife protection section of the municipal forestry bureau for examination and approval. After the municipal bureau approves and passes it, the “two certificates” are issued. In addition, after the two certificates are processed, one should also go to the local industry and commerce department to apply for an individual household or private enterprise business license.
