In order to further improve the economic benefits of artificial snake farming, snakes can be prevented from hibernating and allowed to grow and develop as they do in spring, summer and autumn. The following measures should be taken:

First, the temperature problem must be solved, and a constant temperature throughout the entire winter is required, referred to as constant temperature. Generally speaking, the suitable temperature range for snake activity is between 20-35°C, and the optimal temperature for their activity is 23-32°C. In this way, the constant temperature inside the snake house must not be lower than 23°C, and it is best to control it at 23-30°C with a thermometer.

The snake house in winter is best built as a semi-underground, semi-above-ground structure, as this makes it easier to maintain a constant temperature, because a basement itself has the natural advantage of being warm in winter and cool in summer; another outstanding advantage is that humidity is easy to control. In winter, the humidity in the snake house is generally controlled at between 40-45%, and it is best to place a combined temperature and humidity meter in the house (sold in medical equipment stores), so that the temperature and humidity required by the snake house can be seen at a glance. Under constant temperature conditions, snakes can move freely and normally shed their skin and gain weight, creating good economic benefits for snake farmers. This is because among the four seasons of the year, only winter has the highest snake prices, about two to three times that of ordinary seasons.

In winter, the food snakes need is relatively scarce, but snakes should not go without eating their fill because of this. Only by letting snakes eat and drink their fill can their normal consumption be guaranteed. In winter, snake food is mainly based on artificially farmed quail, chicks, white mice, loach, birds, eggs, etc. Providing snakes with as many kinds of food as possible is the only way to obtain more comprehensive nutrition and maintain good growth.

In addition, the cleanliness and hygiene of the snake house should also be well maintained, with regular disinfection and disease prevention, regular replacement of drinking water, and appropriate ventilation at noon on warmer days to keep the air in the snake house fresh and circulating. Artificially creating a suitable living environment for snakes is the basic guarantee for keeping snakes at constant temperature in winter.
