Scientific Management Methods and Technical Key Points for Fish Ponds in Autumn
The autumn climate is cool, the water temperature is suitable, the fish feed vigorously and grow rapidly. This is a key stage for achieving high yields in aquaculture ponds, so production practices must attach importance to the management of fish ponds in autumn.
1. Reasonable feeding
Based on the fish stocking density, survival rate, and the growth weight gain and feeding situation of the previous stage, estimate the total weight of the fish in the pond, and feed complete compound feed at a rate of about 3% to 5% of fish body weight, generally feeding 4 times a day. The actual feeding amount should be flexibly controlled according to the fish's feeding situation, weather, and water temperature, and it is appropriate for 80% of the fish to be full without leaving leftover feed.
2. Regulating water quality
In autumn, as the fish grow, the feeding amount becomes larger and larger, and the fish's metabolic products also increase in the water body. Toxic substances such as ammonia nitrogen in the water body increase accordingly, so autumn pond water management must emphasize the word “diligent”, that is, frequent water changes, frequent testing, and frequent adjustment. The specific methods are:
First, change the water once every 10 to 15 days, changing 20 to 30 cm each time, using the method of draining first and then filling.
Second, apply quicklime about once every half month to regulate water quality, using about 15 kg of quicklime per mu each time.
Third, use a water quality analyzer to test the water quality once every 2 to 3 days, promptly grasp the status and dynamics of various physical and chemical factors in the water body such as ammonia nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide, nitrite, dissolved oxygen, pH value, and water temperature, and provide a scientific basis for water quality regulation.
Fourth, apply microbial preparations once every 15 to 20 days, so that the beneficial bacterial community in the pond water always remains in a dominant state.
3. Disease prevention
Autumn is a season with frequent outbreaks of fish enteritis, explosive hemorrhagic disease, and various parasitic diseases, so early prevention must be carried out before disease occurs. In addition to proper water quality regulation and reasonable feeding, feed medicated bait such as compound microbial preparations or compound vitamins once every half month, regularly observe the fish's body surface, gills, and internal organs, and promptly use medication for prevention and treatment when abnormalities are found.
