What disinfection methods are used when raising Tibetan Mastiffs?
When raising Tibetan Mastiffs, the focus throughout the year is on preventing disease before it occurs, treating disease early, and disinfecting. According to different disinfection targets, choose different disinfectants and different disinfection methods to comprehensively improve the disinfection effect.
1. A dog breeding farm should establish a strict disinfection system. The site and kennels should be cleaned every day, disinfected once every 7 days, and thoroughly disinfected once every month. The ground of the farm area and the kennels should be disinfected with 2-3% caustic soda.
2. At the entrance passage of the kennels, an ultraviolet lamp should be installed above and a disinfection pool below, with 1% caustic soda disinfectant solution in the pool. When entering the kennels, one should stay for 8-10 minutes.
3. Feeding troughs and waterers can be disinfected with bactericidal disinfectants. For breeding dogs introduced from other places, 0.01% potassium permanganate water can be given to the dogs to drink, to clean the gastrointestinal tract and reduce the incidence of disease in dogs.
4. For the exercise yard of breeding male dogs, 20% limewater can be sprayed on the ground, then a layer of sand spread, and then 5% bleaching powder solution sprayed on the ground. After 5 days, breeding male dogs can be placed there.
5. Before whelping, the empty kennel of the female dog should be fumigated with formalin. For each cubic meter of space, use 42 grams of formalin, 12.5 milliliters of water, and 21 grams of potassium permanganate mixed in a container. Close doors and windows, and after 24 hours of gas disinfection, open doors and windows, wait 2 days, and then put the female dog inside.
6. Kennels of sick dogs should be regularly disinfected with a blowtorch flame, and the centralized sewage pool should be disinfected by adding 10 grams of bleaching powder per cubic meter.
7. Feces can adopt the biological heat fermentation method. Dig several pits 200 meters away from the dog farm. Pour the feces removed every day into the pits. After filling them, seal them well with soil. After 50 days, the disinfection purpose can be achieved.
