Feed formulation methods for meat dog breeding
1. Feed formulas
1. Nursing dogs: taking the daily feed amount for 10 nursing dogs as an example: 850 grams of animal meat or offal, after grinding with a meat grinder add 3 eggs, 500 grams of cornmeal, 850 grams of chopped green vegetables, an appropriate amount of growth hormone (use according to the instructions), add a small amount of concentrated bone broth or milk, rice soup, and gradually increase thin porridge as well as a small amount of bone meal and fish meal. For the thin porridge and bone broth, start by feeding 30-50 milliliters each time, then gradually increase to 200-500 milliliters, feeding once a day.
2. Weaned puppies: feed formula: 20% cornmeal, 15% broken rice, 15% bran cake, 5% rapeseed cake, 14% soybean cake, 15% wheat bran, 5% flour, 5% fish meal, 5% bone meal, 0.5% growth hormone and 0.5% salt. It is best to add broth, that is, boil 500 grams of pork into broth per dog per day and feed it together with the meat, feeding 3 times a day while providing enough drinking water.
3. Young dogs: after weaned puppies have been fed for 35 days, they enter the young dog (male dogs should be castrated) rearing stage. Feed formula: 30% cornmeal, 20% broken rice, 20% bran cake, 10% soybean cake, 10% wheat bran, 5% rapeseed cake, 4% bone meal, 0.5% growth hormone and 0.5% salt. Because young dogs grow quickly, mineral feed should also be added, mixed with warm water, and fed 3 times a day. It is best to add an appropriate amount of animal-based feed.
4. Fattening dogs: after young dogs have been fed for 70 days, they enter the fattening stage. Feed formula: 26% cornmeal, 26% broken rice, 20% bran cake, 10% soybean cake, 10% wheat bran, 5% rapeseed cake, 2% fish meal, 0.5% growth hormone and 0.5% salt. It is best to add fatty feed.
2. Feed preparation
The main purpose is to improve the palatability of the feed and increase its nutritional value. Preparation requirements: hygienic, preserve nutrients, dogs like to eat it, easy to digest, no waste, and bring out the best effect of the feed. Dogs cannot directly digest raw starch, so before feeding the feed must be cooked, that is, the feed should be boiled into a semi-liquid porridge paste. When boiling, pay attention to the following points:
(1) Do not burn the feed or leave it undercooked.
(2) Wash meat with cold water, do not rinse for too long, and do not cook the meat for too long; it should not be broken down excessively. Broth should be fed together with starchy feed.
(3) Grain ingredients only need to be rinsed with clean water to remove sand and impurities; there is no need to pass them through water many times. If soaking is needed, after soaking pour the grain and water together into the pot and cook, so as to avoid loss of nutrients.
(4) For vegetables, wash first and then cut; radishes, potatoes and similar items do not need to be peeled.
(5) All feed should be prepared and fed immediately, and should not be left overnight, to prevent mold and spoilage.
