Timely and accurately depositing a certain amount of high-quality semen into the appropriate part of the reproductive tract of a cow in estrus is extremely important for improving the conception rate of cows. 1. Preparation before insemination: The vulva and perineum of the cow to be bred should be washed with warm water and disinfected; at the same time, prepare the insemination equipment and semen. The insemination gun should be disinfected, the plastic sleeve of the gun is for single use, and the semen must undergo a motility check and meet the insemination standard before it can be used.

2. Insemination method: At present, the rectal palpation insemination method is used. First, following the method for rectal examination of cows in estrus, insert the hand into the rectum and examine the general condition of the internal reproductive organs to determine whether it is a suitable time for insemination. Then gently fix the rear end of the cervix in the hand, press the arm downward (or have an assistant help) to open the vulva, and with the other hand insert the Cassou insemination gun obliquely upward from the vulva 5~10 cm to avoid the urethral opening, then change to inserting it straight or obliquely downward, and send the insemination gun to the opening of the cervix. Then the two hands work together to adjust the relative direction of the insemination gun and the cervical canal, so that the insemination gun slowly passes through the folds in the cervical canal. When skilled, the insemination gun can be sent to the uterine body or the uterine horn on the side of ovulation to inject the semen; if not very skilled, it is better to send it to 2/3~3/4 of the body and cervix of the uterus to inject the semen. The degree of proficiency in insemination technique has a great relationship with the reproductive rate of cows.
