How to raise river crabs for high yields? Farming experience shared
The pond area for river crabs is preferably 10-30 mu, with a pond depth of 1.2-1.5 m, a slope of 1:(2-3), and a surrounding trench around the pond 2 m wide and 1.8-2.0 m deep. The coverage area of aquatic plants should account for 40-60% of the pond area. Suitable aquatic plants include Elodea, Vallisneria, and Hydrilla. Use quicklime for dry pond clearing and disinfection, generally at 100-125 kg/mu. Calcium-plastic boards, aluminum boards, asbestos boards, or anti-escape nets can be used as anti-escape wall materials. Before Qingming, stock 200-250 kg of live river snails per mu. The suitable size for stocking juvenile crabs is 160-200 crabs/kg, and the stocking density is generally 1000-1200 crabs/mu. In the early and late stages of river crab rearing, animal-based feed should predominate, accounting for 60-70%; plant-based feed accounts for 30-40%, and feeding once each evening is sufficient. In the middle stage of rearing, plant-based feed should predominate, accounting for 60-70%; animal-based feed accounts for 30-40%, and feeding is done twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, with the morning feeding amount accounting for 30% of the daily feeding amount and the evening accounting for 70%.
Before stocking, first carry out acclimation treatment for the juvenile crabs: place the juvenile crabs together with the mesh bag into water and soak for 1-2 minutes, take them out and leave them in the air for 3-5 minutes, and repeat this 2-3 times. After the juvenile crabs have fully absorbed water and adapted to the water environment, carry out stocking. Before the aquatic plants have grown densely, when stocking crab seeds, use netting to isolate them in a small area that is easy to manage, and strictly prevent the crab seeds from damaging the growth of the planted aquatic plants. After the aquatic plants have grown densely, remove the netting and let the river crabs enter the aquatic plant area to feed.
During the farming period, strengthen routine management: 1. Frequently check the double-layer blocking nets installed at the inlet and outlet of the farming water area and the pond anti-escape facilities, and repair any holes promptly; 2. During the flood season, pay attention to managing the anti-escape facilities well to prevent floods from destroying the anti-escape equipment; 3. During the growth period of river crabs, prohibit cutting aquatic plants, releasing ducks, and fishing in the farming water area; 4. Strictly prevent toxic and harmful substances from flowing into the farming water area, prohibit the use of banned drugs, and ensure product quality and safety.
