Whether the insemination of yellow cattle is mastered proficiently or not affects the quality of yellow cattle breeding. Timely and accurately depositing a certain amount of high-quality semen into the appropriate part of the reproductive tract of an estrous cow is extremely important for improving the cow's conception rate. Therefore, mastering the insemination of yellow cattle is very important. So what preparations are needed before inseminating yellow cattle and how should it be carried out?

1. Preparation before insemination

The vulva and perineum of the cow to be mated should be washed with warm water and disinfected; at the same time, the insemination equipment and semen should be prepared. The insemination gun should be disinfected, the plastic outer sleeve of the gun is for single use, and the semen must undergo a viability check and can only be used if it meets the insemination standard.

2. Insemination method

At present, the rectal palpation insemination method is used. First, according to the rectal examination method for estrous cows, insert the hand into the rectum and examine the general condition of the internal reproductive organs to determine whether it is at a suitable time for insemination. Then gently fix the posterior end of the cervix in the hand, press downward with the arm (or with the assistance of a helper) to make the vulva open, and with the other hand insert the Cassou insemination gun from the vulva obliquely upward 5~10 cm to avoid the urethral opening, then change to inserting it straight or obliquely downward, send the insemination gun to the opening of the cervix, then coordinate both hands, adjust the relative direction of the insemination gun and the cervical canal, and make the insemination gun slowly pass through the folds and rings in the cervical canal. When the technique is proficient, the insemination gun can be sent to the uterine body or the uterine horn on the ovulation side to inject the semen. If not very proficient, it is advisable to send it to 2/3~3/4 of the body of the cervix to inject the semen. The degree of proficiency in insemination technique has a great relationship with the cow's breeding rate.
