The ground of the pheasant exercise yard should have a certain slope to help with drainage, the ground should be level, and it is best to make it a concrete floor for easy cleaning. Around the exercise yard, brick pillars about 1.8 m high can be built, and netting can be added on top and around the sides. The netting can be wire mesh, or nylon netting can be used instead. When installing the netting, a low wall base 30-100 cm high can be built around the perimeter, and then the netting installed on it. This can both extend the service life of the netting and make the exercise yard neat and attractive.

Because breeding pheasants must be raised with males and females separated before mating, at least two chicken houses should be built or modified. At the same time, feed troughs, water troughs, and so on should also be prepared inside the chicken house. Feed troughs can be made to order from wooden strips, generally 1 m long, 5 cm wide, and 5 cm high. Large-mesh iron netting or small wooden strips can be fixed on top of the trough to prevent the pheasants from entering the feed trough. Water troughs can be replaced with plastic basins or other containers. If conditions permit, special tower drinkers can be purchased. Care should be taken to keep the sand clean and dry.
