Cattle are a relatively common type of livestock, and they can be seen in many parts of our country today. The market consumption of beef in our country is very large, so many people now want to raise cattle. However, the cattle raised by some people do not grow very fast, so they want to know exactly how to feed them so the cattle grow faster.

What cattle eat to grow fast

To accelerate the growth rate of beef cattle, in addition to feeding sufficient forage and feed, it is necessary to add an appropriate amount of high-nutrient forage such as tofu residue, distillers' grains and silage to increase the growth rate of beef cattle. However, this type of high-nutrient, high-protein forage all belongs to acidic feed, and when feeding it, an appropriate amount of soda needs to be added to neutralize stomach acid and prevent the occurrence of rumen acidosis.

Homemade cattle feed formula table

1. Corn 50%, bran 12%, soybean cake 30%, fish meal 5%, bone meal 1%, calcium carbonate 1%, salt 1%. Milk feeding amount 90-100 kg; supplementing the above calf feed and high-quality green forage in the early stage, the average daily gain from 1 to 6 months of age is more than 600 grams.

2. Corn 48%, soybean cake 19%, bran 29%, oyster shell powder 2.5%, salt 1.5%. Daily feed intake 1.25 kg, fresh milk (containing 12.3% dry matter) 5.3 kg, fed for 150 days. In addition, autumn white grass and silage corn are provided for free feeding. The average daily gain within 6 months of age is 600 grams, the body weight at 12 months of age is 273 kg, and the body weight at 18 months of age is 360 kg.

3. Soybean cake 40%, corn 22%, sorghum 20%, bran 15%, oyster shell powder 2%, salt 1%. Daily feeding 2 kg, fresh milk 5.67 kg, fed for 90 days, plus autumn white grass and silage corn for free feeding. The average daily gain within 6 months of age is 549 grams, the body weight at 12 months of age is 268 kg, and the body weight at 18 months of age is 300 kg.

4. Corn 25%, bran 25%, wheat flour 5%, soybean bran 40%, shell powder 3%, salt 2%. The milk feeding amount from 1 to 6 months of age is 300 kg, and later it is gradually replaced by the above mixed feed, with an average daily gain of 725 grams.

5. Corn 35%, bran 22%, sorghum 5%, soybean cake 35%, bone meal 1%. Calcium carbonate 1%, salt 1%. From 1 to 6 months of age, in addition to feeding 287.6 kg of this feed, 133 kg of milk is fed in the early stage. The average daily gain is 680 grams.

Cattle feeding techniques

1. In the early fattening stage, the proportion of roughage in the diet must not be less than 50%. Eating more roughage can exercise gastrointestinal function and increase stomach capacity. The feed composition should be diversified.

2. Roughage should be fed first, then concentrate, with small amounts fed frequently, and water last.

3. If beef cattle show anorexia during feeding, high-quality green forage with good palatability can be added to restore and strengthen gastrointestinal function; the form of the feed can also be changed, such as processing feed by steaming, boiling or rolling to improve palatability.

4. Ensure fresh and sufficient drinking water, provided day and night.

5. Add drugs that help digestion and use additives in the diet.

6. The feed supply should be increased gradually, not too sharply or too quickly, otherwise it is easy to cause leftover feed waste or indigestion. Changing feed should be a process, not a one-time change; generally there should be a transition period of about 1 week.

Precautions for raising cattle

1. Walk the cattle after feeding. After each time the cattle eat and drink their fill, persist in walking them for 5-10 minutes to increase blood circulation, promote the digestion and absorption of forage, and avoid food and water accumulation.

2. Sun in winter and shade in summer. In winter, ensure the cattle shed is warm and let the cattle bask in the sun more; in summer, prevent sun exposure to avoid heatstroke, and ensure the activity area is shaded, ventilated and lets light through.

3. Regular disinfection. Spray the shed and troughs with limewater once a week to prevent cattle from developing diseases.

4. Disease prevention in all four seasons. In addition to regular disinfection, usually also add some drugs or foods that aid digestion and prevent food accumulation to enhance the cattle's immunity. Check the cattle's mouth and tongue once every half month, identify diseases by the tongue, and take timely precautions. If the mouth and tongue are peach red, it is normal and disease-free; if red, it is a heat syndrome; if blue, it is a cold syndrome.

If you want cattle to grow faster, the main method is to add some feed such as tofu residue and distillers' grains to their food. There are also some techniques needed in the proportions at ordinary times. The editor recommended five formulas above and hopes they can be helpful to everyone.
