However, during the keeping process, problems such as scale loss may also occur due to improper technique, so how should this be solved?
What to do if the fortune fish loses scales
1. If the scale loss is caused simply by fighting or scratches, we can solve it with the old three methods. Raise the water temperature to 30 degrees C+, add salt at 2ppm-5ppm, change out 1/3 of the water, and keep this up until the fish disease is cured.
2. If it is late-stage scale loss, then you need to use potassium permanganate solution at 5ppm, or furazolidone at 2ppm to 5ppm. Of course, there are also some special fish medicines such as Baibichu, and all of them can be used to treat the fish, but the possibility of curing it is not very high.
What to do if fortune fish bite each other
Fortune fish are naturally aggressive and have a very strong sense of territory, so the fighting problem is really not easy to solve. There are two common methods:
1. One is to add more fish. With more fish, the sense of territory becomes confused, and fighting will be noticeably reduced or less frequent.
2. The second is to isolate the fish that are being bullied badly, but be mentally prepared: those that have been bitten badly probably have no guarantee of survival and may easily die.
3. It is recommended that you buy some Yuanbao parrot fish, the kind with triangular mouths. They do not fight as fiercely, and because of their mouth shape, they are not likely to bite each other and cause injury.
What to do if the fortune fish gets enteritis
1. Enteritis caused by bacterial infection: Enteritis caused by bacterial infection is the most troublesome to treat. If the body color has not changed, you can use norfloxacin for a medicinal bath, 4-6 pills per 100 liters of water, for 3-6 days. Once the abdominal swelling disappears, you can stop the medication and change the water. During the medicinal bath, food must be withheld. If the body color turns black along with clamped fins and tail rot, you can first use oxytetracycline, copper sulfate and salt to reduce inflammation, and norfloxacin can also be added at the same time. The best method is, while the fish can still eat, to mix oxytetracycline or norfloxacin into hamburger and feed it, which takes effect fairly quickly, once a day for three consecutive days, or stop the medication once pus-like white feces is excreted. The dosage is one tablet per kilogram of hamburger.
2. Enteritis caused by water quality changes: Enteritis caused by water quality changes almost does not need treatment. By adjusting the water quality and letting the fish rest for a few days, it can recover without treatment. In fact, if you want the fortune fish to be healthy, the key is still water quality. Good water produces good fish; this is an unchanging law through the ages.
3. Enteritis caused by indigestion: Enteritis caused by indigestion is relatively simple to treat. Furazolidone can take care of it, 4-6 tablets per 100 liters of water, medicinal bath for three days, or stop the medication and change the water once the fish seeks food and the feces is normal.
What to do if the fortune fish turns black
The most common reason for the fortune fish turning black is that it has contracted black spot disease. The pathogens of black spot disease are mainly water molds and molds, which parasitize wounds on the fish body and fish eggs, and it is a relatively common fish disease. The cause is mainly injury to the fish body, shedding of scales, and so on, which allows pathogens to invade the wound. Treatment methods:
1. Splash a mixture of 250 grams of table salt and 250 grams of baking soda into a 100cmx55cmx45cm fish tank, repeating several times, with noticeable effect.
2. Dissolve 0.3 grams of malachite green or methylene blue in 100 kilograms of water, and soak the fish body for 10-20 minutes. After several days, the fungal filaments can be seen falling off.
3. Soak and wash with 2%-3% salt water, once a day, 5-10 minutes each time.
4. Mix 2 parts per million (2ppm) of potassium permanganate with 1% salt water, then soak the diseased fish for 20-30 minutes.
5. Raise the water temperature to inhibit the growth of water mold. And a 15-watt ultraviolet lamp can be used for several hours of irradiation each day, which can effectively inhibit and eliminate water mold.
If the fortune fish loses scales, first find out the cause, then solve it from the root. If fortune fish bite each other, you can keep some other fish in the tank, which can effectively reduce fighting.
