Shrimp is a very delicious food, rich in calcium and protein, with extremely high nutritional value. As people's demand for shrimp grows, wild shrimp no longer meet our needs, and shrimp farming has become one of the hottest projects. So do you know how many shrimp fry can be stocked per mu of land? Let's learn about shrimp fry farming techniques together with the editor below!

How many shrimp fry to stock per mu of land

1. Two-season farming: Before the end of February, stock 10-15 kg per mu of autumn-bred shrimp seed (size 1000-1600 tails/kg), and finish harvesting by draining the pond in June-July; after draining and cleaning the pond, stock 35,000-45,000 juvenile shrimp per mu (or 0.75-1.0 kg of berried shrimp).

2. One-time stocking for year-round farming (choose one):

1. Stock shrimp fry, 50,000-60,000 per mu, size above 1.5 cm, preferably in June-July;

2. Stock shrimp seed, 20-25 kg per mu, size 1000-1600 tails/kg, preferably in December-February;

3. Stock berried shrimp, 2-3 kg of berried shrimp per mu.

How much feed for 100,000 shrimp fry per day

1. For prawns with a body length of 1.0—2.5 cm, the feeding amount for 100,000 shrimp fry is 300—2000 grams.

2. For prawns with a body length of 2.5—4.5 cm, the feeding amount for 100,000 shrimp fry is 2000—8400 grams.

3. For prawns with a body length of 4.5—7.0 cm, the feeding amount for 100,000 shrimp fry is 8400—13500 grams.

4. For prawns with a body length of 7.0—9.5 cm, the feeding amount for 100,000 shrimp fry is 27000—43600 grams.

Freshwater crayfish farming techniques

1. Farming facilities: The pond area for freshwater crayfish should preferably be 4-10 mu, with a depth of 1-1.5 m, a flat pond bottom, and loam soil as the best substrate. It should have good water retention, easily controlled water level, sufficient water source, and unpolluted water quality. Build inlet and drainage channels well, and at the same time do a good job of building anti-escape facilities.

2. Pond clearing and disinfection: 20-30 days before stocking freshwater crayfish fry, drain the pond water, remove excess silt, repair the pond embankments, and use 75 kg of quicklime per mu or bleaching powder, bleaching powder concentrate, and other chemicals to thoroughly clear and disinfect the pond.

3. Apply sufficient base fertilizer: Apply 500-600 kg of decomposed livestock and poultry manure per mu to the freshwater crayfish pond to cultivate rotifers and cladoceran and copepod plankton, providing suitable food for the shrimp fry.

4. Plant aquatic plants well: Plant aquatic plants such as Hydrilla verticillata, Potamogeton malaianus, and Elodea nuttallii in the freshwater crayfish pond, covering 2/3 of the pond area. At the same time, set up netting or place bamboo tubes, plastic tubes, etc. to provide habitats, molting, and hiding places.

5. Shrimp fry stocking

① Summer stocking: The stocking time is around mid-to-late July, mainly stocking the first batch of juvenile shrimp hatched that year. For juvenile shrimp of 0.8 cm or more, stock about 30,000-40,000 per mu.

② Autumn stocking: The stocking time is from mid-August to September, mainly stocking large-size shrimp fry cultivated that year. For 1.2 cm ones, stock 25,000-30,000 per mu; for 2.5-3 cm ones, stock 15,000-20,000 per mu.

③ Winter and spring stocking: The stocking time is in December or March-April of the following year, mainly stocking shrimp that do not meet market size that year. The size is 100-200 per kg, and 15,000-20,000 are stocked per mu.

6. Feed selection: Freshwater crayfish are omnivorous. Animal feed includes small fish pieces, dried fish meal, snail and mussel meat, and various animal offal scraps. Plant feed includes rapeseed cake, soybean meal, bran, wheat, corn, pumpkin, and various vegetables and aquatic and terrestrial grasses.

7. Feeding: Freshwater crayfish mostly move and forage at night. Feed once each at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. every day. The afternoon feeding amount accounts for about 70% of the whole day's feeding amount. The daily feeding amount can be appropriately increased or decreased according to the weather, water quality conditions, and the shrimp's activity and foraging conditions.

How much money is needed to invest in crayfish farming

The investment cost of crayfish farming is relatively low. Generally, about 40 jin of seedlings are needed per mu, and the seedlings cost about 15-30 yuan per jin, so the seedling cost is about 600-1200 yuan. Crayfish feed is mainly small fish pieces, dried fish meal, snail and mussel meat, various animal offal scraps, rapeseed cake, soybean meal, bran, wheat, corn, various vegetables and aquatic and terrestrial grasses, etc., and the prices are all quite low. In addition, crayfish farming also requires anti-escape nets, disinfectants, aerators, and other supporting facilities.

The above is the shrimp farming technology summarized by the editor for everyone, and I hope it can help everyone. Although shrimp farming does have certain prospects and benefits, starting a business involves risks, so do not blindly follow the trend when starting a business!
