How to Train a Samoyed Dog? Practical Training Methods Shared
Many people like to keep pet dogs at home, and some breeds of pet dogs actually become very smart after being trained by people. For example, Shiba Inus or Samoyeds, people like to keep these two kinds of animals. After all, these two kinds of animals become very smart after being trained by people. Today I will share with you some methods for training a Samoyed.
How to Train a Samoyed Dog
1. When training a Samoyed, praise it more and show it fully.
When training a Samoyed dog, you must praise it more and scold it less. Only then will the dog be interested in continuing to follow your training. Samoyed puppies are just like people: if you keep encouraging them, the dogs will show an increasingly strong enthusiasm for learning.
2. Before training, communicate more with the Samoyed dog
Before training a Samoyed dog, a very important point is to first fully communicate with the dog. Because dogs also have all kinds of personalities: some dogs are a bit slower, while some dogs are very smart; some dogs only need a light scolding to know better, while some dogs become less obedient the more you scold them. For example, among dog breeds, Golden Retrievers are relatively gentle, while Huskies are not very obedient to discipline.
3. Training a Samoyed requires patience
No matter what kind of dog you train, the most important point is to be patient and persistent. Training a Samoyed dog is the same: the most important point is that you must persevere; you do not need to set aside too much time each day, but you should proceed step by step without rushing and without getting irritated.
4. Pay attention to using hand gestures
When the Samoyed does something it should not do, scold it with a "How dare you!", and when it carries out the owner's command, praise it with a "Well done!". These two phrases, one for criticism and one for praise, should become the basic words that it remembers firmly.
How to Train a Samoyed
1. First we need to observe when the dog shows a squatting action: this determines when you train the Samoyed. For example, when I trained my dog, I observed that it always sat and waited for food while we were eating. So I chose to train it during meals. You also need to discover when it likes to squat, and then plan the training.
2. Prepare reward food: generally trainers have special food to reward dogs; you can just use food the Samoyed likes, such as sausages. The food should be chopped up in advance to make it convenient for you to feed the dog. Do not feed too much at a time; keep the dog in a half-hungry state.
3. Choose a good training time: the training time should be about twenty minutes. If your training time is too short, the dog will not learn it; if the time is too long, it will cause the dog to become tired and affect training efficiency.
4. Give the command to squat down: I generally point at the ground with my finger, and the dog will squat down. You also need to think of a command or action to tell the dog to squat down. After choosing the command, you need to give the squat-down command. At first the dog does not understand and does not know what to do, so we should give the command in situations where the dog likes to squat down, and the dog will squat down on its own. At this time, give it a food reward.
5. Repeat the process of "squat down -- reward": you give the squat-down command, then wait for the dog to show the squatting action. If the dog squats down, give it food; if it does not squat down, continue giving the command. The reward must be timely; you cannot wait until the dog has been squatting for ages before rewarding it, because then it will have no effect.
6. Reduce rewards: after the dog has learned to squat down, you should often give this squat-down command, and then reduce the rewards. That is, sometimes give a reward when the dog squats down, and sometimes do not give a reward when it squats down; or you can just touch its head, which is also a kind of reward. Through this process, the dog's squatting action becomes more lasting, and even if you do not give a reward, the dog will still squat down.
What Should Samoyed Puppies Eat
Samoyed puppies under 3 months old have just been weaned, and their stomach and intestines are still relatively delicate. So for daily feeding, it is recommended to mainly use congee and soy milk, and add an appropriate amount of chopped fish, meat, and chopped cooked green vegetables. Be careful not to feed Samoyed puppies snacks, especially chocolate. If you want to reduce feed costs without affecting the puppy's nutrition, you can cook and chop organs such as pig and beef lungs, then mix them evenly with cooked foods such as green vegetables and cornmeal and feed them to the puppy. This is both economical and something Samoyed puppies love to eat.
How Many Meals a Day Should Samoyed Puppies Be Fed
Because little Samoyeds have just entered the weaning period, when feeding little Samoyeds at this time you should choose dog food with good palatability and easy digestion, and they should be fed about 4 times a day. When the Samoyed grows to 3-6 months old, it can be fed 3 times a day; after it is older, twice a day is enough. At the same time, for 3-month-old Samoyed puppies with a poor appetite, you can use the method of feeding the poorer food first and the better food afterward, adding a little at a time and feeding frequently. Through this kind of feeding, the little Samoyed will soon become both strong and cute!
Above, I have introduced some techniques for training a Samoyed with everyone. In fact, as long as the dog and the human have established a very close relationship, the dog will be very obedient to its owner, or very responsive to its owner's commands. So if you want to train a dog to be very smart, you must give the dog enough love and patience.
