How to Raise Jianchang Ducks? Key Points on Breeding Technology and Feeding Management
AbstractAt the beginning of raising Jianchang ducks, site selection must be done well; it is better to choose a place with flat terrain and a clean water source. Then choose healthy and vigorous ducklings to raise. During raising, 23 hours of light and a temperature of about 31 degrees are needed for brooding. The drinking water needs to be clean, and food such as corn can be chosen for feeding. The feeding frequency is six times a day for ducklings, and three times a day for larger ducks. Do a good job of disinfecting and cleaning the duck house every day to ensure health.
1. Site selection and building the duck house. When raising Jianchang ducks, the site can be chosen in a relatively flat area, and it also needs convenient transportation and a clean water source. The size of the duck house can be built according to the specific breeding situation, and some common equipment inside needs to be fully prepared, then do the disinfection work in advance.
2. Selection of ducklings. The ducklings of Jianchang ducks need to be selected to match their characteristics for raising. When selecting, you can see whether they are very strong and whether they are vigorous. Generally, healthy ducklings are strong, vigorous, and their calls are also relatively loud.
3. Management of temperature and light. When raising the ducklings of Jianchang ducks, sufficient light must be ensured, generally no less than 23 hours. As for temperature, the temperature for ducklings should be slightly higher, maintained at around 25 degrees to 31 degrees.
4. Drinking water and feeding. For Jianchang ducks in terms of drinking water, relatively clean water needs to be used for feeding. For ducklings, some glucose can be appropriately added to it, which will be better. In terms of food selection, mainly foods such as corn are used, and they can be crushed a bit, so they will eat better. They can be allowed to forage on their own; for ducklings, some high-protein feed can be added as a supplement. Ducklings need to be fed more frequently, about six times a day. For larger ducks, they can be fed according to the requirement of three meals a day.
5. Daily management. The duck house must be cleaned every day, and its droppings removed. It also needs to be disinfected regularly, which will reduce the breeding of bacteria inside. Whether in winter or summer, ventilation of the duck house must be done well. In summer, cooling work also needs to be done well. In winter, indoor heating work must be done well, and some grass mats can be added inside to increase the temperature.
Disease Prevention and Control of Jianchang Ducks
1. Injecting vaccines. When Jianchang ducks are ducklings, vaccination work for duck plague, duck infectious serositis, and other vaccines needs to be done well.
2. Drug prevention. When they are ducklings, some multivitamins can be added to their drinking water to increase their own resistance. If their droppings appear abnormal, some antibiotics can be added to treat it.
3. Regular disinfection. In addition to using some common drugs for prevention and treatment, usual hygiene also needs to be done well. In summer, the duck house is best disinfected about once every three days. In winter, it is best to disinfect once every no more than a week to ensure cleanliness inside. If a disease occurs, it needs to be isolated for treatment, and the entire duck house also needs to be disinfected thoroughly.
