What Feed Is Best for Raising Carp? A Detailed Guide to Scientific Feeding Methods

General News By Sophie Bennett 0 views
Abstract When raising carp, you can feed them fish cake, soybean cake, barley, rice bran, wheat bran, silkworm pupae, corn meal, animal offal and other artificial compound feeds as well as various commercial feeds. When feeding, strictly adhere to the "four fixed" principles, and adjust the feed composition according to the different growth stages of the carp to ensure adequate and balanced nutrition. Generally, feed twice a day, and the specific feed to be given needs to be adjusted according to the weather, water temperature and the feeding situation of the fish school.

Carp are omnivorous fish and are one of the important freshwater aquaculture fish in our country. Carp growing in natural environments mainly feed on animal-based bait such as chironomid larvae, benthic animals, river snails and shrimp, and also like to feed on plant-based feed such as higher aquatic plants and young shoots; farmed carp generally feed on artificial compound feed and various commercial feeds.

Carp Feeding Feed Formulas

1. Mix 45% wheat bran, 40% soybean cake, 10% barley and 5% fish meal, then add an appropriate amount of multivitamins, inorganic salts, lysine and methionine, stir evenly and feed; the feed feeding coefficient is 2.

2. Mix 45% wheat bran, 30% fish meal, 15% soybean cake and 10% barley, then add an appropriate amount of multivitamins, inorganic salts, methionine and lysine and stir evenly; the feed feeding coefficient is 2.

3. Mix 50% soybean cake, 15% fish cake, 15% wheat bran, 15% rice bran, 1% multivitamins, black-bone chicken salt and antibiotic offal, and 2% binder evenly, then feed; the feed feeding coefficient is 2.7.

4. Mix 40% fish meal, 20% soybean meal, 40% tail flour, 37% crude protein and a certain proportion of additives evenly; the feed feeding coefficient is 1.74.

5. Mix 8% fish meal, 17% soybean cake, 30% cotton cake, 2% meat and bone meal, 2% silkworm pupae, 14.5% barley meal, 20% third-grade flour, 4% corn meal, 0.5% oil residue, 1.5% minerals, 0.5% pig blood and 33% crude protein evenly, then feed; the feed feeding coefficient is 2.28.

The feed given to carp should contain about 35% protein and 5-8% fat to ensure balanced nutrition. During feeding, adhere to the “four fixed” principles, feeding once in the morning and once in the evening each day. The specific feeding amount needs to be adjusted according to weather changes, the water temperature in the pond and the feeding situation of the fish school. Generally, the feeding amount should be 2-10% of the total weight of the fish school, and it is best if the fish school finishes the feed in about 10-20 minutes.
