Summary: In the body weight 24-50 kg stage, the average daily weight gain is 680 grams, and a total of 51 kg of piglet feed is consumed; in the body weight 50-75 kg stage, the average daily weight gain is 830 grams, and a total of 74 kg of middle pig feed is consumed; in the body weight 75-110 kg stage, the average daily weight gain is 930 grams, and a total of large pig feed is consumed

1. Feed Quantity for Pigs at Each Stage

1. Taking a pig farm with 30 multiparous sows as an example, the daily quantity of pig feed required for each stage is as follows. When the pig farm first begins operating, about 72 kg of replacement gilt feed is needed daily. After entering the actual farrowing stage, there are only 6 replacement gilts, and about 15 kg of replacement gilt feed is needed daily.

2. About 8 kg of breeding boar feed is needed daily (based on about 2 boars).

3. About 40 kg of lactating sow feed is needed daily (based on about 8 sows, with a cycle of about 30 days per batch).

4. About 2.5 kg of creep feed is needed daily (based on about 80 piglets, with a cycle of about 30 days per batch, that is, from about 7-38 days of age, with body weight going from about 2 kg-12 kg).

5. 50 kg of nursery feed is needed daily (based on 60 piglets, with a nursery period of 22 days per batch. That is, from about 38-60 days of age, with body weight going from about 12 kg-24 kg). Generally, starting from 28 days of age at weaning, it is used mixed with creep feed.

6. About 110 kg of piglet feed is needed daily (based on about 110 piglets, with a cycle of about 40 days per batch, that is, from about 60-100 days of age, with body weight going from about 24 kg-50 kg).

7. About 190 kg of middle pig feed is needed daily (based on about 80 pigs, with a cycle of about 30 days per batch, that is, from about 100-130 days of age, with body weight going from about 50 kg-75 kg).

8. About 280 kg of large pig feed is needed daily (based on about 105 pigs, with a cycle of about 38 days per batch, that is, from about 130-168 days of age, with body weight going from about 75 kg-110 kg).

9. About 50 kg of gestating sow feed is needed daily (based on about 20 sows).

2. Daily Weight Gain of Pigs at Each Stage

1. Based on the above rough estimated values, these can serve as reference data in production. In actual production, the actual number of pigs on hand at each stage shall prevail. For example, when breeding pigs are first introduced, there are only replacement gilts and breeding boars, and there is no feed for small, middle, or large pigs, gestating sows, lactating sows, etc.

2. The consumption of creep feed during the lactation period is about 500 g. From 28-38 days of age is the weaning period. During this period, creep feed mixed with nursery feed is used for feeding. During this 10-day weaning period, about 3 kg of creep feed per head and 3 kg of nursery feed per head are consumed. Then from 38-60 days of age is the nursery stage, during which nursery feed is used for feeding. During this stage, about 20 kg of nursery feed per head is consumed.

3. From the above data, it can be seen that  from 7-60 days of age, when suckling piglets go from starting to eat to switching to piglet feed, the piglet stage consumes a total of 3.5 kg of creep feed, and 23 kg of suckling pig feed, namely nursery feed.

4. Piglets from 60-100 days of age (body weight 24-50 kg stage, average daily weight gain 680 g) consume a total of 51 kg of piglet feed, and the feed-to-meat ratio at this stage is 1.96:1.

5. Middle pigs from 100-130 days of age (body weight 50-75 kg stage, average daily weight gain 830 g) consume a total of 74 kg of middle pig feed, and the feed-to-meat ratio at this stage is 2.95:1.

6. Large pigs from 130-168 days of age (body weight 75-110 kg stage, average daily weight gain 930 g) consume a total of 110 kg of large pig feed, and the feed-to-meat ratio at this stage is 3.14:1.
