AbstractColibacillosis: treat with drugs such as Qingnuokang, gentamicin, neomycin, chloramphenicol, and enrofloxacin. Coccidiosis: treat with drugs such as Qiujing, Anbaole, amprolium, Jibao-20, Qiuchongjing, and Diqiuwang. Marek's disease: there is currently no specific drug treatment; a relatively good method is to boil licorice, mung beans, and kelp in sugar water and give it to them to drink. Fowl plague: fowl plague vaccine can be injected in the early stage.

1. Colibacillosis

1. Symptoms: listlessness, head retraction, closed eyes, white or yellowish-green watery droppings, difficulty breathing, open-mouth breathing with rales, and inflammation of the conjunctiva.

2. Lesions: enlarged liver, copper-green in color, with pinpoint-sized grayish-white spots, the surface covered by a peeling grayish-white fibrinous membrane, thickened pericardium, grayish-white, increased pericardial fluid, fibrinous exudate in the pericardial sac, the epicardium also covered with such exudate, thickened air sacs, rough, with gray inflammatory exudate attached, thickened peritoneum, lacking luster, with fibrinous exudate attached. Intestinal mucosa swollen and bleeding, intestinal contents thin and often mixed with blood. In hens, the abdominal cavity is commonly filled with pale yellow fishy fluid and ruptured egg yolk.

3. Prevention: vaccination with E. coli bacterin can be used for prevention; the best is to inject a bacterin made from strains isolated from this chicken farm.

4. Treatment: drugs such as Qingnuokang, gentamicin, neomycin, chloramphenicol, enrofloxacin, Texiao Mixian, and E. coli No. 1 have relatively good therapeutic effects; use according to the instructions, while streptomycin, penicillin, oxytetracycline, and others have poorer efficacy.

2. Coccidiosis

1. Symptoms: closed eyes, poor spirit and appetite, fear of cold and huddling together, ruffled feathers, drooping wings, white bloody watery droppings, even bloody diarrhea, sick chickens emaciated, combs pale, anemia.

2. Lesions: ceca markedly swollen, small intestine also noticeably thickened, brownish-red or dark red in appearance, intestinal mucosa thickened, congested, hemorrhagic, ceca filled with blood.

3. Prevention: cutting off the external life cycle of coccidia, such as keeping the chicken house ventilated and dry, appropriate stocking density, timely removal of manure, regular disinfection of the site, etc., are effective measures to prevent the occurrence of coccidiosis.

4. Treatment: there are now many drugs used to treat coccidiosis, such as Qiujing, Anbaole, amprolium, Jibao-20, Qiuchongjing, Diqiuwang, sulfadimethoxine, penicillin, etc., among which Qiuchongjing has relatively good effects; farmers can choose and use them on their own.

3. Marek's Disease

1. Symptoms: depression, reduced appetite, daily weight loss, head retraction and closed eyes with unwillingness to move, wry head, drooping crop, drooping wings, paralysis, some with cloudy iris, irregular edges, narrowed pupil or even blindness, a few with skin tumors, greenish-white droppings.

2. Lesions: enlarged liver, in severe cases with tumors on the surface ranging from rice-grain to peanut-sized, enlarged spleen, some with tumors in the kidneys, intestines, lungs, etc., edema of the proventriculus, some with enlarged nerves in the legs or wings, losing luster.

3. Prevention: inject the first vaccine within 24 hours of birth, then wait until 16-18 days to inject the second vaccine; before 40 days, do not raise them in places where Marek's disease has occurred.

4. Treatment: there is currently no specific drug treatment; a relatively good method is to boil licorice, mung beans, and kelp in sugar water and give it to them to drink, which can alleviate symptoms and reduce mortality.

4. Fowl Plague

1. Symptoms: poor spirit, standing apart from the flock in a daze, head and neck drawn in, ruffled feathers, not eating, black comb, greenish-white droppings, swollen crop; if a sick chicken is held upside down, sour-smelling liquid will flow from its mouth, difficulty breathing, coughing.

2. Lesions: proventricular papillae swollen, hemorrhagic, hemorrhages in the coronary sulcus fat, hemorrhages in the cloaca, cecal tonsils swollen, hemorrhagic, hemorrhages in the throat.

3. Prevention: at 7-8 days of age, administer the strain II vaccine by eye drop; at 1 month of age, inject strain I vaccine; at 2 months of age, inject the second dose of strain I vaccine.

4. Treatment: in the early stage, injecting fowl plague antibodies has relatively good effects; the dosage is 0.5-1 ml for small chickens, 1.5-1.8 ml for medium chickens, and 2-3 ml for large chickens.
