Now many people like growing succulents at home, not only because of their high ornamental value, but also because they are easy to grow. Among them, the Tiya succulent is one of the most commonly grown, so how do you grow the succulent Tiya?

1. Soil requirements

The Tiya succulent especially likes dry soil, so the potting soil should be a mixed soil with a fluffy texture and especially good aeration. It can be made by mixing ordinary garden soil with river sand and animal and plant bone powder. This kind of soil not only has good water drainage, but can also provide sufficient nutrients for Tiya. Growing the Tiya succulent in this kind of soil will allow its fleshy leaves to store enough energy during the growing period, which is the prerequisite for ensuring that it turns fiery red in autumn and winter.

2. Light requirements

The Tiya succulent likes mild sunlight and dry soil, and has strong adaptability. When the temperature is not high enough in winter, it will have a short dormant period. If you want the Tiya succulent to turn red, you must place it in a spot with direct sunlight in summer and autumn, but it must not be exposed to scorching sun; at the same time, sufficient sunlight can also prevent the Tiya succulent from becoming leggy.

3. Water requirements

The rapid growth stage of the Tiya succulent is in spring, early summer, and autumn each year. If you want the Tiya succulent to turn fiery red in autumn and winter, you must control the amount of watering. In summer, water should be sprinkled in the morning and after the sun goes down to keep the soil thoroughly moist; in spring and autumn, water should be sprinkled before noon; in winter, choose the time of day when the temperature is highest for sprinkling water, generally at noon or after lunch.

4. Temperature requirements

When the all-day temperature remains at 15-20°C and the difference between the highest day and night temperatures is greater than or equal to 6°C, the color of the Tiya succulent's fleshy leaves gradually changes from pale green to dark green; when the all-day temperature remains at 5-15°C, and the difference between the highest day and night temperatures is greater than or equal to 10°C, with colder mornings and after sunset and sunlight at noon, the color of the Tiya succulent's fleshy leaves will change from dark green to bright red; when the temperature is less than or equal to 10°C or there is rainy or snowy weather in winter, the color-changing process of the Tiya succulent will accelerate.
