What are the methods for growing cultivated mushrooms at home
Many mushrooms were originally a type of wild fungus, but because market demand is relatively large, they have also been developed into a cultivated food, so what are the methods for growing cultivated mushrooms at home?
1. Basic introduction to cultivated mushrooms
Cultivated mushrooms generally refer to fungi of the genus Agaricus in the family Agaricaceae, and are edible fungi grown indoors, such as white button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, and so on.
Cultivated mushrooms generally grow gradually from mycelium into fruiting bodies and finally become edible mushrooms, and they need to grow in a suitable environment to grow better.
Because cultivated mushrooms are a type of saprophytic fungus, their bodies do not contain chlorophyll, so they cannot directly carry out photosynthesis under light. When cultivating cultivated mushrooms, shading treatment is generally also required. This is because light that is too strong will instead have a negative effect on the growth and development of the fruiting bodies.
2. Methods for growing cultivated mushrooms at home
Choose types of cultivated mushrooms that are easy to grow, such as white button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, and shiitake mushrooms, and prepare a suitable culture medium according to the type of cultivated mushroom chosen, such as mixed compost medium for white button mushrooms, wheat straw medium for oyster mushrooms, and sawdust medium for shiitake mushrooms. Then prepare an empty room, and after disinfection treatment, cultivated mushrooms can be planted. During the growing period, suitable temperature, moisture, and so on must also be provided.
Different cultivated mushrooms and different growth stages also require temperatures that are not completely the same, so when growing cultivated mushrooms indoors, the temperature management of the room must be strict.
Cultivated mushrooms also have relatively high requirements for moisture, and the humidity of the culture medium generally needs to be controlled at around 55-60%. Therefore, during the cultivation process, watering should be done promptly according to the growth conditions of the cultivated mushrooms.
In addition, cultivated mushrooms themselves have a certain aerobic nature and need enough oxygen to be maintained during growth. In actual cultivation, attention should be paid to regular ventilation and air exchange.
