How to Grow and Care for the Pink Blue Bird Succulent
The Pink Blue Bird, also known as Echeveria, is a drought-tolerant and very easy-to-grow succulent plant. Many people like to keep a few of them at home, so how do you grow the Pink Blue Bird succulent?
1. Fertile soil
When growing the Pink Blue Bird, you need to find a soil suitable for its growth. It needs soil that is airy and well-draining. You can use a mix of cinder, peat, and perlite in a 5:4:1 ratio as its potting soil, or you can use a mix of bark chunks, charcoal chunks, peat moss, and fern roots in a 3:2:2:1 ratio as the potting soil
2. Moderate watering
The Pink Blue Bird is a plant that greatly needs moisture. In spring and autumn, it needs watering once every 2 to 3 days, while in summer, when it is airy, hot, and dry, the moisture in the soil evaporates quickly, so it needs watering once every morning and evening. In winter, the Pink Blue Bird enters a dormant period and does not need much moisture, so it is best to water each time when the soil is almost completely dry. Note that when watering, never splash water onto the leaves, otherwise it will affect the Pink Blue Bird's appearance.
3. Plenty of sunlight
The Pink Blue Bird is a bit difficult to grow. It is neither cold-tolerant nor drought-tolerant. In spring, autumn, and winter, it needs plenty of sunlight to grow better. Without sufficient sunlight, the Pink Blue Bird will become leggy, which will lead to malnutrition. In summer, it also cannot be exposed to strong sunlight, otherwise the Pink Blue Bird will wither and die, so sun protection work needs to be done in summer.
4. Growing temperature
The Pink Blue Bird needs to grow in a ventilated environment. It is suitable for growing at 15 to 25°C and cannot go below 5°C. If it goes below 5°C, it is very likely to suffer frost damage, which will affect its growth and may even cause death. Therefore, in winter, keep-warm work needs to be done, and the temperature of its growing environment should be kept above 10°C.
