How to grow peanut seedlings? A detailed practical guide
Peanut, also known as earth bean or longevity fruit, is one of the more common cash crops, and its cultivation range in our country is also very wide, so how should peanut seedlings be grown?
Peanut is an annual herbaceous plant of the Fabaceae family, genus Arachis, and is the main oilseed variety for high-quality edible oil. Our country is one of the largest peanut-consuming countries in the world. Peanuts are not only used to make various foods, but can also be pressed to extract peanut oil, whose oil has a natural rich aroma and is deeply loved by many consumers. Here we will briefly introduce the cultivation method for peanut seedlings.
1. Temperature: During the seedling stage, the suitable air temperature for the branching and growth of stems and branches and the growth of leaves in peanuts is 20-22°C. An average temperature above 25°C will shorten the seedling stage, cause excessive growth of stems and branches, and elongate the basal internodes, which is unfavorable for seedling restraint.
2. Watering: Newly planted peanut seedlings usually do not need watering. When the flowering stage and pod formation stage are dry with no rain, watering should be done immediately around noon.
3. Prevention and control of pests and diseases: Generally, aphids appear during the seedling stage, and cotton bollworms, leaf spot disease, etc. occur in the middle stage, so timely prevention and treatment should be noted.
4. Topdressing: To prevent mulched peanuts from aging too early and to extend the functional period of the aboveground leaves, spray a 1%-2% urea solution or potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution or other foliar fertilizer on the leaves in the middle and late stages of peanut growth. Spray 2-3 times every 7-10 days.
5. Timely harvest: Coated peanuts are usually more than 1 week earlier than open peanuts and should be harvested in a timely manner.
Because peanuts have advantages such as high economic benefit, easy cultivation and management, and being conducive to circular utilization of land, they have become the first choice of planting variety for many growers today. When planting peanuts, as long as more attention is paid to their temperature during the growth period, watering and fertilizing, and early prevention and control of pests and diseases, a bumper harvest will generally be obtained.
