2. An introduction to the world's three major lavender producing regions!
The world's three major lavender producing regions are Provence in France, Furano in Japan, and the Ili River Valley in Xinjiang, China. We will not introduce the lavender producing region of the Ili River Valley in Xinjiang here.
1. Provence, France
Provence is located in southeastern France. This is a blue coast bordering the Mediterranean, and it is also the birthplace of lavender. In Provence, the lavender fields present completely different scenery throughout the four seasons. In winter, after harvesting and cutting, only short, neat dry stems remain, covered with white snow. As soon as spring arrives, green leaves sprout. In June there is a purple haze, and gradually, as the summer sun grows hotter and hotter, the lavender flowers quickly turn into a captivating deep purple. Next comes the busy harvesting work, and by the end of September, all the flower fields have been harvested.
2. Furano, Japan
Furano is located in the center of Hokkaido, Japan, and is a famous lavender town. There are many lavender fields here. From July to August, you can see bright lavender blooming in abundance. Of course, different lavender varieties also have different ornamental blooming periods. Early-blooming types have already bloomed from late June, later ones can be viewed in mid-July, and late-blooming types can be enjoyed until early August. Once August arrives, some flower fields harvest the lavender early in order to preserve the plants.
