Lion's mane mushroom, also known as Hericium erinaceus, is a traditional precious dish in China, with tender flesh, fragrant aroma, and a delicious taste. It is one of the four famous dishes (lion's mane mushroom, bear paw, bird's nest, shark fin). Today we introduce lion's mane mushroom cultivation techniques.

1. Greenhouse construction

Choose a place with flat terrain, a clean environment, and close to a water source to build the greenhouse. The size of the greenhouse depends on the cultivation scale. Since lion's mane mushroom is a thermophilic fungus, the greenhouse must have good insulation measures. It is recommended to use double-layer hollow walls and also ensure good ventilation measures. Dig the ground down 50cm, cover the top of the shed with drip-free film for insulation, and a winter-warm vegetable greenhouse can also be used to grow lion's mane mushroom.

2. Choosing the substrate

The choice of cultivation raw materials can be determined according to actual conditions. Below are two raw material formulas for your reference: (1) 90% cottonseed hulls, 8% wheat bran, 1% gypsum, 1% superphosphate; (2) 58% cottonseed hulls, 30% miscellaneous wood sawdust, 10% wheat bran, 1% gypsum, 1% superphosphate. After mixing, add water and stir evenly.

3. Bagging and sterilization

Choose polypropylene plastic bags as cultivation bags. Put 8 liang to 1 jin of substrate into each bag. Press it appropriately tight when filling, and tie it tightly with thin rope after filling. Place the cultivation bags into a sterilization pot, heat to 100 degrees, keep for 10-12 hours, then stop the fire and let it sit for 5-6 hours.

4. Inoculation

During inoculation, first disinfect and sterilize the outer surface of the spawn bottle, open the spawn bottle, remove the upper layer of old mycelium, open the cultivation bag, use a tool to inoculate the mycelium into the bag and seal it. Generally, each bottle of spawn can inoculate 30 bags.

Lion's mane mushroom is a fungus used both as medicine and food. Especially for its medicinal value in medicine, it is favored by a large number of consumers. It has the effects of strengthening the spleen and nourishing the stomach, calming the nerves, and fighting cancer. It has special effects on symptoms such as physical weakness and fatigue, indigestion, insomnia, gastric and duodenal ulcers, chronic gastritis, and digestive tract tumors.
