More and more people love growing camellias, but compared with other flowers, camellias are relatively more difficult to grow. Whether in the south or the north, beginners always run into quite a few problems when growing camellias. So today, the editor will introduce the growing methods and precautions for potted camellias. Let's take a look!

Growing Methods for Potted Camellias

1. Flower soil: Camellias do not have high requirements for flower soil. It is recommended to use soft soil, preferably with a certain amount of fertility. Do not use flower soil that easily compacts, because it is not good for plant growth.

2. Light: It has certain requirements for light and likes light, but it cannot be exposed to strong light. Prolonged exposure to strong light easily causes sunburn. So in midsummer, be sure not to place it under strong light.

3. Water

Camellias require sufficient water and require the air humidity to be moist enough, but you must ensure that water does not accumulate in the pot for a long time, otherwise it will cause the fibrous roots to rot and affect the normal growth of the camellia.

4. Flower pot

When potting camellias, the flower pot chosen should be loose and breathable. It is best to choose a clay pot, and a ceramic pot is also acceptable.

Precautions

1. At the bud stage, if many flowers are blooming, part of the buds should be pruned appropriately, so that the remaining buds will grow more brilliantly.

2. When the weather is warm, diseases are very likely to appear, so some medicine needs to be sprayed in advance as a preventive measure.

3. In winter, when the temperature is relatively low and drops below 0°C, the potted camellia can be placed outdoors in a warm, sunny, wind-sheltered spot for care, and at night an insulating film can be added for warmth. Or it can be placed indoors in a warm place, and when doing so, care should be taken to ensure sufficient sunlight.
