Golden Hime is one of the sweet flag (Acorus) varieties. Its leaves are golden yellow, it propagates easily, and its slender leaves give it excellent ornamental value. So how do you grow Golden Hime sweet flag?

1. Potting soil

When choosing potting soil for planting Golden Hime, choose a sandy soil with good aeration, good drainage and a fairly loose texture. After successfully planting Golden Hime, water the potting soil, place the pot in a shady spot and keep the potting soil moist; this will help Golden Hime establish itself easily.

2. Watering

Golden Hime likes a moist environment, so when growing Golden Hime you must keep the potting soil moist, but there must be no standing water. Therefore, in routine watering management, simply keeping the potting soil moist is enough; do not water too much, otherwise the roots can easily rot. In summer, when temperatures are high, you can increase the amount of watering as appropriate, but make sure the potting soil does not hold standing water; in winter, reduce watering, and as long as the potting soil is kept in a just-right moist state, you can provide Golden Hime with a good growing environment.

3. Light

Golden Hime likes shade and cannot tolerate sun exposure; it fears direct strong sunlight, and especially in summer's high-temperature weather, direct sunlight must not fall on Golden Hime. Therefore, place Golden Hime in a shady spot where scattered sunlight can reach it in the morning and evening; this is enough to meet Golden Hime's light requirements.

4. Fertilizing

Generally speaking, April to May is Golden Hime's vigorous growing season. During this period, you can appropriately give the plant some fertiliser solution, preferably rotted, dilute cake fertiliser solution, but not too much. If too much fertiliser solution is applied, Golden Hime may grow too vigorously and its growth proportions may become unbalanced, with some parts growing well and others growing less well, which affects its overall ornamental value.

5. Pruning

While growing Golden Hime, promptly prune dead leaves and yellow leaves, and properly prune any branches and leaves that have grown taller or are too dense, so as to keep the plant's appearance attractive; at the same time, this allows new leaves to grow abundantly and appear fine and small, making it more ornamental.

Golden Hime is a very beautiful plant. Only with careful cultivation can it grow with an elegant, graceful look and greater ornamental value.
