Wine Grape Cultivation Techniques and Management Methods
Grapes are one of the world's ancient fruit tree species. They originated in western Asia and are cultivated all over the world. They have many uses, one of which is winemaking. Today we will introduce wine grape cultivation techniques.
1. Site selection and land preparation
The planting area requires level land with a slope of no more than 0.5%. Dig planting trenches in spring. After digging the trenches, cover the first layer of the trench with straw, apply farmyard manure as the second layer, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer as the third layer, and finally backfill with topsoil and use subsoil to make side ridges. The planting trenches should be irrigated to settle them, and the irrigation should be sufficient and thorough. After the irrigation trenches have settled, cover them with agricultural plastic film.
2. Seed selection
Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, etc. can be chosen. Plant at a reasonable density. Nutrition bag seedlings should be hardened off for 15 to 20 days so that the plants reach 15 cm, the root system develops well, the seedlings are the right color, and there are no pests or diseases.
3. Planting time
Planting nutrition bag seedlings should be carried out when the 15 cm soil temperature is stable at 10-15°C and the air temperature is above 15°C. Under normal conditions, planting is generally done in May.
4. Planting
After covering with plastic film for 3 days, punch holes with a hole puncher and plant, then water. Water again after 3 days, and water for the third time after 7 days. After watering, promptly straighten and wash the seedlings.
5. Fertilizer and water management
Half a month after planting, apply a nitrogen fertilizer once. In the later period, apply once every 15 to 20 days. After mid-July, fertilization should mainly be phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. After August, applying nitrogen fertilizer is prohibited. After each fertilization, water promptly. The amount of water should not be too large. After watering, it is best that there is no standing water in the vineyard. Before entering winter, apply wintering water once each year.
