Everyone has eaten mint candy, so surely everyone is very familiar with mint. Mint not only has very high ornamental value, it can also be made into candy, brewed as tea, and used as a deodorizer. So what are the precautions for growing mint? Let's find out together with the editor below~

1. When should mint be sown

The sowing time of mint mainly depends on the climate conditions of each region, usually between March and June, or in September. Among them, Guangdong, Hainan and other provinces can sow all year round, the Jiangsu-Zhejiang area sows around “Qingming”, and the southwestern region sows after the rainy season begins. Once mint is planted, it can be harvested continuously for 2 years to 3 years.

2. Precautions for growing mint

1. Soil: Mint likes loose, highly breathable soil. It does not have high requirements for soil, but a pH test must not be forgotten; too great a difference is not suitable.

2. Light: Mint needs sufficient sunlight to grow. Even in summer, there is no need to shade it. If light is insufficient, it will grow leggy, the leaves will stop growing, and it will also become very spindly.

3. Water: Sufficient water can make mint grow better, especially in the early growth stage, when the demand for water is greater. When watering normally, water thoroughly. In winter, when the temperature is lower, appropriately reduce the amount of watering.

4. Temperature: The most suitable temperature for its growth is 25-30°C. If the temperature is below 15°C, it will grow slowly. At the suitable growth temperature, as long as water and fertilizer are reasonable, the higher the temperature, the faster it will grow.

Overall, growing mint is relatively simple, but it needs careful cultivation; carelessness may lead to situations such as lack of water or insufficient nutrients.
