Radermachera sinica is a common indoor foliage plant. Placed indoors, it not only adds decorative appeal but also purifies indoor air. Many families like to keep a pot, but during cultivation, if management is improper, pests may appear. So what should you do when your home Radermachera sinica gets pests?

1. Scale insects

During the cultivation of Radermachera sinica, scale insect infestations often occur. Their harm is very great; they mainly feed on the plant's sap, causing branches and leaves to wither and fall off, and in severe cases even causing branches to die off or the plant to die. In addition, they can also trigger some diseases, so they should be eliminated in time.

Solution: For methods to kill scale insects, first, if the infestation is relatively mild, promptly remove the infested leaves and maintain suitable light and temperature conditions. If the infestation is relatively severe, immediately spray with medication; it is best to spray 40% dimethoate emulsion at 600-800 times dilution, once a week, until the pests are eliminated.

2. Aphids

Aphids are one of the most destructive pests. During the vigorous growth period of Radermachera sinica, aphids often occur, and the branches and leaves become covered with white insects large and small. These insects suck the sap, causing the leaves to turn black and shrink, and in severe cases to wither and fall off.

Solution: When aphids occur, first remove a small number of aphids; you can use tweezers to remove the infested leaves and rinse them with clean water. If a large number of aphids occur, spray with medication; you can spray with 50% fenitrothion emulsion at 1000 times dilution.

3. Mites

The main symptoms of damage are new leaves becoming wrinkled and curled, with an uneven leaf surface. It generally occurs from June to September. High temperature and dryness favor mass outbreaks of this pest, while under relatively humid conditions the infestation occurs less. Mainly use acaricides such as pyridaben and hexythiazox.
