The emerald plant is a perennial green vine with a very attractive appearance and is very easy to grow, so how do you propagate the emerald plant?

The emerald plant has two propagation methods: division and cuttings, of which cuttings are the more commonly used method in everyday life. The specific methods are as follows:

1. Cutting time

From April to August each year, the climatic conditions during this period are relatively suitable for the growth of the cuttings.

2. Cutting environment

The temperature should be maintained at around 25 degrees, and the air should have a certain degree of humidity, not too dry. At the same time, prepare moist sandy soil in advance.

3. Cutting method

Select 3 to 4 nodes at the rhizome, remove all the leaves below, then insert them directly into the sandy soil; roots will grow in about 15 to 20 days, at which point they can be transplanted or planted in place.

4. Notes on cuttings

① Before rooting, do not let it get direct sunlight for the time being; place it in a bright spot instead.

② During this period, be sure to keep the soil and air moist; the speed of rooting is also related to temperature. If you cannot control the nighttime environment and temperature, you can wrap the whole thing in a thin layer of plastic, and open it during the day to let it breathe and mist it to keep it moist.

③ When transplanting or planting in place, be sure to choose soil with good drainage, good air permeability and sufficient nutrients, and choose a flowerpot with good air permeability as well, especially if you are a beginner at growing flowers.

④ When planting in place, about 3 to 5 plants per pot is enough; you can place a cylinder in the middle and let it climb and grow around this cylinder.

⑤ Before it has adapted to the new environment, care for it carefully; only after it has adapted can you tend it according to general methods.
