Watermelon is an essential fruit for cooling off in summer; you could say a summer without watermelon is incomplete. Watermelons are grown all over the country. So how do you treat watermelon leaf diseases?

1. Fusarium wilt

For chemical control, prevention should be the priority. The pesticides watermelon continuous-cropping agent and 40% Guakuning have fairly good control effects. The specific method is: after the watermelons are transplanted, while watering them in, mix 50 g of watermelon continuous-cropping agent with 30-40 kg of water, and drench the roots with 0.2 kg of the solution per plant, or remove the sprayer nozzle and spray the stems, leaves and stem base of the plants. When the lower leaves of a diseased plant have 2 wilted leaves, mix 50 g of 40% Guakuning with 30-40 kg of water and drench the roots with 0.5 kg of the solution per plant. Before root drenching, first scrape a small bowl-shaped hole at the stem base of the diseased plant, then pour the solution into it. To help the diseased plant revive, do not cover it with soil for the time being; let the sun shine on the base, and cover it with soil only after it has fully recovered. After that, water it once more 7-10 days later.

2. Anthracnose

Choose disease-resistant varieties, disinfect the seeds well, and rotate with non-cucurbit crops for more than 3 years. Plant at an appropriate density, prune in time, and ensure ventilation and light penetration. Appropriately increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, pay attention to drainage after rain to prevent waterlogging, promptly remove diseased plants and diseased leaves, and prop up the fruits with straw bundles. Based on the usual disease onset period, spray pesticides 3-5 days in advance for prevention and control. You can use 50% carbendazim wettable powder or 70% thiophanate-methyl powder at 1000-1500 times dilution, spraying once every 7-10 days for 3-4 times in a row.

3. Viral disease

Control aphids in the field in time. You can choose 40% omethoate at 1000 times dilution, or 20% fenvalerate-malathion emulsifiable concentrate at 2000 times dilution, or 10% imidacloprid at 2000 times dilution. At the early stage of the disease, begin spraying 20% Virus A wettable powder at 500 times dilution or 1.5% Zhibingling at 800 times dilution, applying once about every 10 days for 2-3 consecutive sprays. If you add multi-element micro-fertilizers such as Duode and Lvyuan 999 when spraying, the control effect is even better.

Watermelon diseases should be prevented and controlled according to the actual situation; only by treating the right disease with the right remedy can you achieve effective treatment.
