What are the precautions for growing peanuts with plastic film mulching
Based on my experience growing film-mulched peanuts in Haicheng City, the following issues need attention in peanut plastic film mulching:
1. Choose suitable plots
It is best to choose sandy loam soil with deep soil layers and strong water and fertilizer retention capacity. Do not choose low-lying, easily waterlogged plots, and strictly avoid continuous cropping or alternating cropping.
2. Carefully prepare the soil and make the beds meticulously
Before mulching, the soil must be fine. On the basis of autumn plowing and spring harrowing, make beds by manually marking the lines. The bed width is 1 m. Use a plow and harrow to make furrows, and manually level the bed surface. At the same time, apply more than 4500 kg of farmyard manure per mu, 30-50 kg of calcium superphosphate, and 50-100 kg of plant ash.
3. Sow at the right time and cover the film well
The sowing date should be about 10 days earlier than local open-field cultivation, generally April 15-25 is suitable. Use a double-core harrow to open furrows, with a small row spacing of 40 cm and a hill spacing of 15 cm, 2 seeds per hill. Sow manually and cover with soil manually. The soil covering thickness is 1 cm. Firm the soil to preserve moisture. Spray herbicide 43% Lasso, with a dosage of 250 g, mixed with 50 kg of water. After spraying, use a film mulching machine to cover with film.
4. Strengthen field management
1. Inspect the field and fill in missing seedlings. After sowing and before emergence, check whether the field film has been damaged by wind, ensure moisture in the beds, and promote emergence.
2. Break the film in time to ventilate and guide seedlings out of the soil. When 60% of the small seedlings are pushing through the soil, puncture holes to ventilate and guide the seedlings out.
3. Control aphids in time. Use 40% dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate at 800 times dilution and dichlorvos at 1800 times dilution for spray control.
4. Pull out large weeds in the field in time. Pull out large weeds whenever they are seen to ensure the field is free of weeds.
