How to grow peanuts for high yield? Getting sowing right is key
1. Improved variety selection: choose high-quality, high-yield peanut varieties such as Huayu No. 17, Huayu No. 16, 8130, etc.
2. Formula fertilization: growing peanuts absorb nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in a ratio of 1.1:1:1.1. According to this ratio, for fields with ordinary yield, apply per mu 2000 kg of high-quality farmyard manure, 50 kg of superphosphate, 15-20 kg of compound fertilizer, 10 kg of urea, 2-3 kg of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and 1 kg each of borax and zinc sulfate. Mix the farmyard manure, superphosphate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate and broadcast them during land preparation; apply the other chemical fertilizers in the furrows when ridging.
3. Seed treatment: 1 month before sowing peanuts, sun the peanuts in their shells for 2-3 days; after shelling, select plump kernels with bright seed coats. Before sowing, use 25% chitin seed dressing agent and mix the seed at a pesticide-to-seed ratio of 1:50-1:70; sow after the seed surface dries in the shade.
4. Sow at the right time: sow when the soil temperature at a depth of 5 cm stabilizes at 15°C. Soil moisture must be sufficient at sowing. Use a two-row ridging and film-mulching planting method, with a ridge spacing of 85-90 cm, a ridge height of 55-60 cm, a row spacing of 50 cm, a hole spacing of about 18 cm, and a hole depth of 3-5 cm. Sow 9000-9500 holes per mu, with 2 seeds per hole.
