How do you use a wheat seeder? Remember these 10 key points
Machine sowing of wheat has the characteristics of uniform sowing, consistent depth, stable row spacing, good soil coverage, seed saving, and high work efficiency. To use a seeder correctly, you should grasp the following 10 key points:
Maintenance before entering the field for work. Clean out debris in the seed box and tangled grass and soil on the furrow openers to ensure good condition, and add lubricating oil to the various transmission and rotating parts of the tractor and seeder according to the requirements of the manual. In particular, before each operation, pay attention to the lubrication and tension of the transmission chain and the tightening of the bolts on the seeder.
The frame must not tilt. After the seeder is connected to the tractor, it must not tilt, and during work the frame should be kept level from front to back.
Make all kinds of adjustments well. According to the provisions of the instruction manual and agronomic requirements, adjust the seeding rate, the row spacing of the furrow openers, and the depth of the furrow opening, soil covering, and press wheels appropriately.
Pay attention to adding seed properly. The seed added to the seed box should contain no small, shriveled, or mixed seeds, so as to ensure the effectiveness of the seed; secondly, the amount of seed added to the seed box should at least reach a level that can cover the inlet of the seed metering box, so as to ensure smooth seed metering.
Test sowing. To ensure sowing quality, before large-area sowing, be sure to persist in test sowing 20 m and observe the working condition of the seeder. Ask agricultural technicians, local farmers, and others to inspect and diagnose it, and after confirming that it meets local agronomic requirements, then carry out large-area sowing.
Pay attention to traveling in a straight line at uniform speed. The operator should choose the operation route so as to ensure convenient seed filling and convenient entry and exit of the machinery. When sowing, pay attention to traveling forward in a straight line at uniform speed, and do not go fast and then slow or stop midway, so as to avoid double sowing or missed sowing; to prevent clogging of the furrow openers, the raising and lowering of the seeder should be operated while moving, and when reversing or turning, the seeder should be lifted.
Sow the field ends first. First sow the field ends crosswise, so as to avoid compacting the field ends and causing too shallow sowing depth.
Observe frequently. During sowing, frequently observe the working condition of the seed metering device, furrow openers, covering device, and transmission mechanism. If clogging, soil sticking, tangled grass, or incomplete seed covering occurs, remove the problem promptly. Adjustment, repair, lubrication, or clearing tangled grass and other such work must be carried out after stopping the machine.
Protect the machine parts. When the seeder is working, reversing or sharp turns are strictly prohibited, and the lifting or lowering of the seeder should be carried out slowly, so as to avoid damaging the machine parts.
Pay attention to the seed box. During operation, the seed in the seed box must not be less than 1/5 of the seed box volume; when transporting or moving between plots, the seed box must not contain seed, and even more must not contain other heavy objects.
